Forums - Gaming Discussion - What franchises won't transition into next generation well?

Many games lose popularity over time and with each new generation gamers are more open early in each generation.  Because of this we may see some games drop in numbers because of lack of innovation etc.  Maybe gameplay just has grown stale, i dont know.  Anyways what games do you think will drop off in numbers next generation?

I think CoD will probably drop alot next gen. Alot of it's sales are from teenagers who are peerpressured into buying it to play with their friends. New systems means smaller market, wich means less peerpressure from others. So it will have a good start on next gen, but obviously won't sell as much as previous games since the market is not there, as the market grows I think CoD won't be able to pick up the pace to get back to this gen's CoD numbers.

Assassin's Creed, cause gamers are getting tired of this franchise cause it's getting obviously ridiculous, as soon as next gen kicks in ppl will want to experience new experiences and they will drop this franchise that is imo only tolerated by gamers cause we are used to not getting new experience and stick with what we know.

Just Dance cause obviously the casual market won't be lining up to buy next gen. It may keep selling on Wii/WiiU tho.

God of War if they don't drop Kratos in favor of a new protagonist.

Final Fantasy cause they lost the confidence of gamers and square won't fool gamers into buying their games with only pretty graphics again.

Sonic because I think Sega has no idea how they should handle him.

What?! I can't hear you over all this awsome! - Pyrrhon (Kid Icarus:Uprising)

Final Ultimate Legendary Earth Power Super Max Justice Future Miracle Dream Beautiful Galaxy Big Bang Little Bang Sunrise Starlight Infinite Fabulous Totally Final Wonderful Arrow...FIRE! - Wonder-Red (The Wonderful101)

Japanese Hack N Slash games will have to increase their animations to fit into the workflow of next gen I think. Action/Adventure titles will be mostly fine. Japan definitely needs to catch up though.

DmC? I think I cheated with that response...

Nintendo Network ID = itsJabby

Wii Fit probably won't transition well. I can't see the fitness gaming audience go out and buy a WiiU as there seems to be not much of an upgrade to the Wii Fit formula.

Call of Duty & Assassins creed will drop significantly in sales. And I can see the casual games like Wii fit and kinect games bomb next gen.

CoD.

More of a wish than what I believe will happen. I don't think it will drop into nothingness, it will just be smaller.

Assassin's Creed ... the Creed fatigue is already setting in.

A few titles Something from EA ...

Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

Think Kinect with the Wii Mote. Wii HD if you will. Last gen methodology can still work in the new gen. Technologywise Nintendo is still running on last gen tech so they can pull it off, but their biggest problem will be convincing people they should buy wiimotes for their Wii U.

Fitness games and minigame collections I think are good candidates.
