You were saying? Oh by the way Metal Gear Rising also sold more copies.

No, wait, hold on, hold on.  I don't wanna start laughing yet cause I might be misunderstanding you.  You aren't saying Metacritic User score means anything at all, are you?  Please, I really hope that's not the direction you're going.  If it is, it's still not too late to back away from that, because the mockery would be pretty darn harsh.  Best to just delete the post and pretend nothing happened.

Hey man he started it by bringing Meta Critic into this. You mad I'm styling on you?

It is never the fans fault for not supporting something they dont want. Devil May Cry fans wanted Sonic the Hedgehog. They got Sonic and the Secret Rings. Hopefully you catch my drift. Japanese developers need to focus on delivering with fans want and less on what they dont. Now Im saying games should be made solely for the fans. They have to continue to expand and grow it, but DmC was grown in a way that in attracted no one.

That bull and you know it. DmC has a style that a lot of people like but a good chunk of the people who play it will buy it used. The new DMC had more contact and depth to the combat style than even MGR. Narrative style Hack N Slash titles are growing in profits away from the old Japanese style thanks to games like GOW. Even Platinum themselves will have to learn to increase the quality of their narrative to buffer the awesome hack n slash action from point A to point B. Everyone knows from Ninja Theory's mission statement that their main goal is to make Story based action/adventure games. The game was boycotted intentionally. Ninja Theory was better off working with Sony and making new IP's for them that dont step on the toes of niche franchises like DMC.

What exactly is bull? Im not quite sure what alot of your post has to do with what I posted. I dont think a more story based DmC was the problem because DMC's all over place mythos is actually a big criticism from fans. The game sure was boycotted. Why? Nobody wanted it obviously. Im not understanding what your getting at.

Story was a problem because it was a entire new story, not a continuation of the old series.

Lets face it, until near release the hatestorm was entirely new Dante focused, then as got nearer release only then did other criticisms emerge, the only valid one really being going for 60 to 30fps, but that hardly makes or breaks a game.

Well duh.

NT shows us new Donte, he sucks.

NT shows us gameplay, it sucks.

NT shows us story, it sucks.

NT shows us rich narrative, FUCK YOU.

You're asking me to form criticisms of a game before playing the game. Do you even think before you type?

It was a great start, Inafune only so much. You could tell they were building up to a second game to give Dante newer moves and much, much more as far as the story. Have you played the game? The metacritic is also higher on the PS3 and 360 than Metal Gear Rising Revengeance. Reviewers even know that anything that stood in the way of sales of this game was truly a mass boycott.

You were saying? Oh by the way Metal Gear Rising also sold more copies.

.....This argument holds no weight. You're proving exactly why you're wrong. Look at how many 0 to 3 scores the game got from the user scores. The game was sabotaged from the start. Reviewers in unison rated the game higher than Revengeance and it deserves it from story, to the amount of moves in the gameplay and replay value, including DLC. Over thirty hours worth of stuff in this game and people still complain.

Same applies to your side fool. Look at how many 10 out of 10 socres "to even the odds"

Well its not like I'm "paid" to give reviews.

I just got off the phone with Capcom just now and they convinced me DmC is by far the best game of the decade. 10/10

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ft7hlHjZw0c

I had the greatest time playing the game. 11/10

FUCK YOU, I have a bigger dick.

Come on. This is getting downright pathetic, you searched for a damning post from some idiot that doesn't know how to restart a game. Really...how low do you want to go now!?

No, because I don't know what that means.  What is this 'styling', exactly, and when did you do it?

Thing is when DMC4 released it was bashed pretty heavily by fans for being same old thing, so they get a new and fresh thing, bash that too.

Shame that DMC has such a horrid fanbase, as the new DMC is a great game.

Please don't talk about something you don't know nothing about. DMC4's problem was that it was half a game cause dev time was cut short.

Hey look, what I presume an old DMC fan distorting history and reality.  DMC4 was bashed for lots of things, repetitive levels, bad story, gameplay going nowhere new, lack of checkpoint system etc.  Lots of complaints.

New DMC fixes every complaint of DMC4.  Fans invent new reasons to complain.  Rotten fanbase.

Your last post just shows once again that you don't know nothing about DMC.

Repetitive levels and back tracking is exactly what I said was caused by the main problem with the game, dev time was cut short.

Bad story? Who plays DMC for the story? Story is just there to move Dante from place A to place B and kick ass, DMC3 did have a decent story but it would have been meaningles if the gameplay hasn't been great as it was.

Gameplay wise DMC4 is the best in the series, real time style switching and Nero's devil bringer (for a casual approach) were great additions. But you don't have to believe me just go and hit youtube for the trustyle tournaments (those crazy guys use DMC4 for a reason).

We fans voted with our wallets, we don't want a casualised, dumbed down Devil May Cry game.

Backtracking is a hallmark of DMC, but again, this game was about keeping the gameplay intact and so its should be permissible to let that little part go. Perhaps the second game would've had it. Personally, I think the games pacing shows a good reason why backtracking wouldnt be possible. The game was praised for its unorthodox level design, showing a new an refreshing side to dante. Perhaps in the second game backtracking might've been possible.

10/10 game I love glitches

This game is perfect.

Also you're pretty stupid if you think he wasn't being sarcastic.

@Stage -Even through the reboot Tomb Raider is still instantly recognizable. DmC is not. Its almost like another game. CAPCOM's ex employee Seth Killian said it best. People dont want brand new. They want 70% of what they know and 30% new. Tomb Raider meets that break up. DmC does not.

DMC in gameplay looks more like the old DMC than the new Tomb Raider looks like its predecessor. Both great reboots, but still, seriously.

Now thats bull, but you know that which is why you put" in gameplay". You know that all games will be judged on a visual basis first( as fucking irritating as it is). You look at Tomb Raider you know its Tomb Raider. You know damn well that cant be said for DmC. No point in having this conversation anymore. DMC fans spoke with their wallet...and everything else including the kitchen sink. They said not interested. So did everybody else. Dont forget that another reason for DMC reboot was to have a more western feel to attract more people but they couldnt get them either.

I truly beg to differ. The old Tomb Raiders were more about exploration and platforming, this one has platforming but its Uncharted platforming. Crystal Dynamics even admitted that the games tone, style and even more was changed from the old games. The old lara was more acrobatic with an almost dead on kill shot even while doing flips in the air and the boycount was nothing like this game and the puzzles in the old games would have you stuck for hours. I don't want to get into spoilers but to say the least this is the more realistic version of what Lara would be like.

I was talking about strictly visual. I have not played TR yet so I wont argue design but on just visual its Tomb Raider.

On the numbers we have in VGChartz it's looking like it'll be an uphill struggle for DMC's sales to beat Heavenly Sword.

Kind of ironic that the game which made them no money and turned them to multi-platform development may end up being the best selling title they developed.

Damned if they do; damned if they don't.

Heavenly Sword was an amazing game just short and I think Sony owns the IP so anyone can make a sequel like Santa Monica.

Think a more violent Uncharted and you're half way there. You wont explore a quarter in this game the way you did in the old tomb raider, nor will the puzzles be nearly as satisfying. It tries to give the Uncharted experience holding your hand during puzzles as well. Thats Uncharteds style and charm not Laras. I expected more but nevertheless it was a great game. I'd give it an 8.0.
