Forums - Gaming Discussion - Fuse = Haze

Oh man... where to start with the comparisons... I know this has been said before but I just watched videos Insomniac JUST uploaded a few days ago and it does not look pretty.

Let me make this clear I have not played Haze so this is how I see the similarities.

1. Generic 4 letter word as title to the game

2. Generic box art

3. Buzz... When Haze first got announced people were excited for it. It sounded like a cool concept... however, as people saw more and more buzz quickly died down. Compare that to Fuse, the initial reaction to overstrike was positive... however with questionable gaming decisions the buzz started dying. Now we are supposedly about 2 months away from launch... without a launch date. Which brings me to...

4. delays... never a good thing

5. The bad animations... watching the close combat gameplay... the enemies have bad animations. The bodies just go limp and fall into awkward positions...

Now these videos I'm watching were upload 12 days ago and have a measly 350 views... Its a shame, this game seemed to have the Insomniac charm I loved when it first announced but something went south... I'm going to assume its EA. They definitely are struggling with something... either can't develop what the envisioned or something with their team/partners.

Now finally, 6. Sales... will this suffer from horrible sales? that's yet to be seen but from it suffering from the same things it would surprise me.

For an example of bad animations skip to 2:17 where he sneaks up on a guy and watch up to 2:30... (this video at least has 600 views)

Comparison 7:

Exhibit B:

I disagree, Haze atleast had some hype, people were talking about it. Fuse, how bad it may be, no one's talking about it.

So it's a Halo killer??

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

I disagree. Fuse will flop worse than Haze did, even on two consoles.

LOL!

Turkish - I don't think you remember Haze launch... the longer and longer Haze went without launching the more and more quiet it got.

Updated my second post... EVEN THE ENEMY MODELS LOOK THE FUCKING SAME!

Another unfortunate parallel to draw:

Free Radical's previous series (Timesplitters) was filled with humour; cultural references; in-jokes and was basically just a hilarious game. I'd put it forward that Insomniac similarly put a lot of humour into the Ratchet & Clank series.

Haze completely eschewed using humour to instead focus on "serious themes"; and Fuse looks to be doing exactly the same. Especially disappointing after that Overstrike trailer.

I worry about the game. But I'll buy it regardless. Insomniac have earned my trust.

It looked interesting when it was announced but now it just looks boring. They should have stuck with Sony and Resistance.

I agree.

I'm so on the fence about this game. I can't see partners AI being any good. I mean, I fucking HATED playing RE5 alone because of the dumb ass partner AI and I don't see 3 more partners being ANY better. This game is revolving around co-op but I don't have 3 friends who would buy this (probably not even 1). I wanted to compare the AI too but I can't until we get confirmation from reviewers... (wasn't AI terrible in Haze? I don't really remmeber)
