Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony (SCE) was actually once a Software only company making games for SNES and Genesis

Sony made the audio chip in the SNES too.

And no one mentioned Sony once published a Gamefreak game. Who knew:)

Ahaha, this is so ironic. In a thread on Lego City Undercover Stories, there was a high figure from a Company called Traverller's Tales who mentioned that Lego City was going to be the biggest game on WiiU. Some staunch sony fan came in that thread and started ridiculing the guy saying "Who is this guy?" and just being dumb.

Guess what? TT games was making games for Sony Imagesoft in conjunction with Psygnosis. Look at the Mickey Mania entry.

I thought it was common knowledge. Then again, I'm old as fuck.

Kenny boy designed it himself in secret because Sony wasn't interested , then when it was done it was to late for Sony to say no and that was the first small step towards PS.

Research shows Video games  help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

I'm not seeing Sony anywhere mentioned on the Technōs Japan wiki page. Wouldn't it state that Sony owned them or something at one point?

Sony never owned  Technōs Japan or the Super Dodge Ball property, it only published the game in the US under it's joint venture with CBS (CSG Imagesoft Inc).  Sony didn't develop the game (Technōs Japan did) and a company called Million Co. Ltd now have the rights to it.

Ah okay.  Thanks for the info.  I totally forgot about the published/developed labels in the op.  Technōs Japan just stuck out to me cause they did Super Dodge Ball, Double Dragon, and River City Ransom.

In respect to gaming, you mean

Sony Corp was never a software only company. Very far from it.

Barmy title.

Agreed. It confused me at first.

I have that Mickey Mouse Game for SNES. It has really bad loading times - on SNES! How the hell is that even possible?!

The game itself isn't all that good either.

Official member of VGC's Nintendo family, approved by the one and only RolStoppable. I feel honored.

They were preparing us for the PSX days.
