Forums - PC Discussion - SimCity 67 metacritic so far

Couple caveats to people thinking about buying this game (I bought the game and will enjoy it).

It is always online, there is no single player game. You can go private and not play with others, but the game itself has parts that are processed on Maxis servers.

The launch is kinda a disaster. 30 minute queues to start playing a game this morning. Game breaking bugs are occurring for some people which is requiring people to use the rollback feature that was included in the game.

Cities are small. So they went with the region map but the actual cities themselves are quite small.

Nice, waiting for the Mac release.

Is this a joke?

Considering the game will have all necessary patches by then, and I am never a early adopter, it is no joke.

My house has a PC, but I am not a PC gamer. I personally own my own MAC laptop, and play the few games that do interest me, like SC2, and Sim City, which are both MAC compatible. I am a 360 gamer mostly.

I ask because you call yourself a MS fan. Jesus man!

Oh.

Well I am aware MS and Apple are enemies. But that doesn't concern me......MS vs Sony takes up most of the shits that I am capable of giving :P

None of the previews sounded good, not to mention the user scores don't seem too happy. Is there a demo on Origin?

He doesn't like good graphics.
Only reason to support Microsoft > Windows cause you need it for gaming if you don't want to wait for a possibility of a release for other systems.

SimCity sounds good - Just read an article about waiting lines of 1-2 hours.
Reminds me of the D3 Release but there the Online part made somehow sense.
Why is SimCity always Online?Do they save something in a Cloud system or so?I remember reading a long time ago something about that but don't know if it was in combination with that game.
I don't care for Origin cause it works perfectly with Battlefield 3 but i hate to wate 2 hours or so to play a game.Hopefully in Europe there won't be that issue.
Still don't understand why publishers aren't able to provide big enough servers to hold the amount of people rushing onto the servers.Probably afraid those games are dead after 1 week.

Maybe i will watch some twitch.tv channels before i will buy it.

That's the part that bugs me the most. I want to build huge cities, I think I'll get SimCity 4 instead.

Looks interesting but I don't feel like start an Origin account.

Origin isn't bad.  I don't understand peoples hate for it.  Steam wasnt that great when it started either.  Although the spyware was annoying with Origin

Yeah, people forget that steam was pretty much shit on a stick when it launched. It got better like 4-5years later so. Origin is ok for the short time it has existed. Lets just hope it manages the presure from Sim City. I'm gonna play the shit out of that game :D

Sod paid-to-rate-well reviews, look at what the people have to say; DRM, queues, day 1 dlc, and tiny plot sizes.

Looks really fun.... I like the idea of the smaller specialized cities....

buuuuuuut.... fuck origin.

If it was on steam i would of preordered it.... origin... I don't want that crappy program on my computer again.

I'd sooner put GFW live on my PC.
