We,PS family members are very arrogant and that is coming from 150m PS2,100m PS and 75m PS3 console sales.In a nutshell,we are powerhouse and we have history,a long successful history.We focus on gamers,we have diverse titles from whole range of different genres and we don't rehash 30 year old franchises like Nintendo.Also,and this is maybe most important reason for us in Eastern Europe,Sony cares for us,aknowledges us and counts on us.You see,PS is not Japanese console like Xbox is so Americanized - no,PS is indeed global console.I can't tell you how many ppl from Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries I met playing Battlefield 3.
So,I am a gamer,I buy consoles to play best games,that is a reason I choose Sony three times in a row.

Like I said before I think PS fans are less likely to try any other systems in my experience. It's a shame.

You're kidding, right?  In the span of a day or two, Nsanity posted all the negative Sony articles he could get his hands on (at least 3 or 4 that I saw).  Obviously in full defensive mode because of the PS meeting.

You are asking specifically about the reaction to specs.  Well, considering the rumored PS4's specs turned out to be right, then there is little reason to doubt that the rumored NeXbox specs are also right.  Which would mean the PS4 will be more powerful. 

And there's nothing wrong with people being hyped about their system's specs.  I'm sure when the NeXbox is revealed, you'll see plenty of MS fans posting threads about how the Kinect 2 is miles ahead of the PS4's Dual Eye, and that it will win over the casual market.

That might be your experience, but there is no way to tell if that is true. In fact, using sales data, PS2 going from 150mil to PS3 at 75mil you could say the opposite. That isn't necessarily "fans" though, but it seems a lot of PS2 fans are now 360 fans. I'm a big PlayStation fan, but that hasn't prevented me from owning an Atari, NES, Genesis, Xbox, Gameboy, GBA, DS, or a PC for gaming.

Well I guess it's because we brag/discuss about Sony's specs which are always high during launch window.

Really? People are still using M$? It seems just as offensive.

Either way every company fans have their bad apples. I was clearly a bad apple in the original XBox days, especially being in the vast minoirity.

I think it's because we have so many of them, and they are really mad about being in 3rd place for this gen. It's a bad chip on their shoulder.

A little bit could be a reflection of Sony's culture.

But like the things dogs leave in the yard, just step over them the best you can. There are good and fun Sony players too.
