If everything is comeing out of China for the PS4 (manufactureing, BOM ) and i mean everything , I don't think Sony will have a problem selling the PS4 for $399 min and $499 max.

Making a claim that you can not in any way prove is not substance.
You made the claim, so now prove why 8GB of GDDR5 RAM will cost $400.
Go ahead, and saying "because I think it will" isn't a good answer.
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
Currently playing:
Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)
I think this is prohibited by the forum rules, but i have to say it man, you are starting to annoy me.

you are the one who created the thread. show us the proof that GDDR5 memory costs 400$. and im still waiting for your reply in your "innovative" thread btw
Hes not serious, is he?
Arcturus said: "8gb DDR5 alone costs $400" ...what? |
if thats true, things are looking good^^
From Gaf:
APU (CPU/GPU) - 85-90
8GB GDDR5 - 110-140
OS Chip (supposedly ARM based) - 12-18
Video encode/decode chip - 8-12
Blu-ray drive - 18-25
Hard drive - 38-50
I/O - 9-12
Wireless chip + antenna - 4
HDMI+HDCP - 11-15
Other - 25-35
Total - 320-401
And actully it isn't calculating with the discount Sony will get during mass production.

I reported it a while ago and the mods have done nothing.
Prices from two years ago.
Notice 6970 - its clock is 1375MHz, on 256bit bus, for 176GB/s bandwidth, just like PS4 (assuming they went with 256 bit bus, and not 512, which would half that clock). Price for 2GB of GDDR5 for that card is $48.57.
Notice 6950 - its clock is 1250Mhz, so slightly slower memory. It's price is $36.90 for 2GB.
Even with these old prices, you have $195 for 8GB. But considering memory prices drop yoy, it's pretty safe to assume 8GB is at most $150, and most likely lot less.
Welp, this thread sure caused the mod report queue to explode.
N-Magic, I warned you before not to create threads with little/no substance. I'll be locking this thread as well.
