If you like shooters, you should think about getting Warhawk. Like rocketpig said, you should play Heavenly Sword (rent it or buy it on the cheap). Motor Storm, Call of Duty 4, Burnout Paradise, Virtua Fighter 5, Oblivion and Ninja Gaiden are some of the better PS3 titles I've played so far.

Buy Uncharted and CoD, and Burnout Paradise is looking surprisingly good

 I wonder when Tekken 6 will actually come out.  Tekken 5 hit the ps2 in the States only two months after it hit the arcades in Japan.  Tekken 6 hit the Japanese arcades back in November, so the ps3 version shouldn't be too far off now.  I mean, they don't have to port it, as the arcade machines were built using ps3 technology (Cell, etc.) so the hardware should be identical.  The only issues I could see are getting the online functional, and working with the ps3's OS.

I think i'm gonna try getting call of Duty 4 cheap.

Personilize your Ps3 with a theme, www.allps3themes.com theres a ton of them. Use the Ps3 web browser anb download directly into you Ps3. After you get a theme go pick up CoD4.

Warhawk is a great multiplayer experience. up to 32 players, dedicated servers, no lag, super competitive. i'd opt for the retail version if you can find it.
