Wii will end 08 at 46-50 million.
Japanese are cautious... it is their culture, Nintendo will up production to 2.5 a month at the most.



End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

 Which stores will thank god for, if they have those Wiis, as they watch them melt away in November and December, just like if you dump a huge pile of snowin someone's yard during that period.   In Australia.

Rat's off to you... I mean hats off to ya John! *Tom goes to the mayor reference* Yeah, Nintendo WILL up production this year Iwata basically came out with that, they go with the number they predict, they were way wrong last year and thats why the shortage happened, now they KNOW what to expect and I see way more production in the future so 60m might be right. On a side note about any doubts about demand, our store got 9 in yesterday, sold them all out within an hour and from those NINE people the word got out we had some in and at least 30 people came in or called asking for a Wii, so love it or hate it Wii is going to sell for a long time.

Pretty much agree with Oyvoyvoyv, for the increasing production before March.
Then stuff those piled Wii's little by little to the places they are needed.

I wouldn't be surprised if Big N announced in their fiscal Q4 report that they have again increased production of Wii's and DsL alike. ;)
