Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Battlefield 4 On Wii U?

It's 3rd party, so small chance. On top of that, it's EA, so zero chance.

Not like I even care anymore. A lot of 'big' 3rd parties don't want to seriously support Nintendo systems, and never will anymore, imo. I'm over it. Move on!

Good thing Nintendo's got world-class 1st and 2nd part stuff, and are currently -very- actively expanding, as well as continuously collaborating with talented 3rd parties that ARE interested, as of late. and that will only continue, and increase. There are tons of fantastic games to come. ^_^

Very unlikely it will be on the Wii U. Specially considering it's EA.

This is kind of statement is silly. And threatening coming from a mod.

PC doesn't get Madden at all. likely because there's just not a great market for it from data they gathered. That doesn't mean EA hates PC, they've put the best versions of Battlefield, Mirrors Edge, and Mass Effect by far.

There's lots of reasons for the subpar ports. It's not exactly easy to port because the power balance of the Wii-u is heavy on the GPU instead of CPU which is weaker. Meaning you have to take a different perspective when optimizing for the wii-u. Early PS3 ports from X360 were godaweful too.

He's implying that we're lucky to get gimped late ports at all, as if that's all we deserve. It's not hard to read between the lines of the argument.

How can you suddenly decide there is no audience before the console is released? Don't even mention the Wii, because EA made this statement prior to the Wii U's launch, which was obviously during the Wii's lifetime.

Not before, after. Look at the sales of Fifa 13, Mass Effect 3 and Madden NFL 13. Complete flops, all of them.
But hey, at least New Super Mario Bros U reach 1 million sales. Yay for Nintendo.

Ahh, but who is to blame for their being flops, hmm? Surely not the brilliant, hardworking men and women who decided that Madden NFL 13 and FIFA 13 for Wii U would only get 6 months of development time a piece, or that Mass Effect 3 should be priced for $60 dollars, with no DLC, and release *after* the trilogy version on other platforms which were $60 for 3 games with all DLC.

Surely the people who made those decisions are perfectly rational business geniuses who gave 110%, only to be defeated by the wretched, ungrateful Nintendo fans who took these labors of love and spat on them.

Wii U owners are lucky they got the games at all. Any further delays and the games would have sold much worse and would have been even more unprofitable for EA.

So we're second class citizens. Gotcha.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. It is very unprofessional of a mod to not only be this active on the forums, but to have a very obvous bias.

Not at all. I never said that's all Wii U owners deserve. But the sales prove they don't care for these games so why would EA bother?

The thing is that people complain about how Wii U does'nt get these big-name 3rd party games but when they do come to the platform(shitty port or not) they don't buy them. What does that tell EA? How would EA react to these sales? By providing more resources to Wii U games, or less?

Is that a threat? There's nothing wrong with my post.

Madden NFL 13, Mass Effect 3 and FIFA 13, these are all games that came out MONTHS before on the other consoles. The fact that EA even decided to port them over should make everyone greatful. The fact is these games didn't sell well. Late port or not, those poor sales are no excuse. Mass Effect 2 on PS3 is a perfect example of a late port with great sales. So don't go complaining if Battlefield 4 doesn't make it to Wii U. There are obvious reasons for it.

The fact that they came out months later is the reason they sold so poorly.

When will they finally release a game on  a Nintendo with all the features found in the other games AT THE SAME TIME OF RELEASE?

There is always a 'but' factor with these games they call 'support. It is mass effect, but no dlc, a year later, and you can get 3 mass effect games for the same price.

It is madden 13, BUT, the engine is the same as the PS2 as opposed to the one we just made that changes the entire game, and there are fewer features, while releasing 3 months after all the other versions.

EA obviously has an axe to grind these days, Nintendo is nto infallible, but this shit is just ridiculous.

Look at Mass Effect 2 on PS3 http://www.vgchartz.com/game/46825/mass-effect-2/Global/

Came out a year later than the 360 version yet it still sold well. There is an audience for it. It's smaller than on 360, but its there and its profitable.

Now lets look at Mass Effect 3 sales

1 Mass Effect 3 X360 2012 Role-Playing Electronic Arts 1.71 0.67 0.03 0.25 2.65
2 Mass Effect 3 PS3 2012 Role-Playing Electronic Arts 0.48 0.36 0.03 0.16 1.03
3 Mass Effect 3 PC 2012 Role-Playing Electronic Arts 0.31 0.30 0.00 0.10 0.71
4 Mass Effect 3 WiiU 2012 Role-Playing Electronic Arts 0.03 0.01 0.00 0.00 0.04

Mass Effect 3 sales on Wiii U are abysmal. There doesn't seem to be an audience for this game on Wii U. The question is if EA is willing to spend the time and money to try and create one. Will the next Mass Effect release on Wii U? Would a simultaneous release even make much of a difference?

Another example is Black Ops 2. It only came out 1-2 weeks after the PS3/360 versions yet it still sits at a measly 150k sales. This is an absolute flop considering the PS3 and 360 versions are over 10million. But still, there still seems to be an audience for the game on Wii U. This ones does seem to have potential for future growth simply because the Call of Duty brand is so massive.

I'll just leave this (incomplete) chart here. Battlefield 4 is listed as all platforms.

As I've always said, I don't think any fanbase "deserves" to get games.

Whether or not the games are late ports and slightly gimped, the support was there and already better than on the Wii. (at least more diverse since the top Wii EA games are all Rock Band related).

So yeah instead of being pissed and demand more just play the games first and be happy about them. It was risky for EA to support the WiiU with the launch games and so far it didn't pay off.
Just because a game is "old" doesn't mean that there is no demand for it. 2.7m people bought the PS360 version of FIFA 13 since WiiU launch, Madden NFL 13 did 1.6m and even the old Mass Effect 3 sold 260k.

Mass Effect sales on WiiU are understandable but FIFA and Madden sales aren't really. The early 360 sports games were far more gimped and they sold well and the successors did fantastic. EA doesn't specifically hate Nintendo.
FIFA 06 Road to FIFA World Cup for Xbox 360 is one of the biggest ripoffs in EA history. FIFA 13 on WiiU is far far closer to the real deal and yet it's so far behind in sales.
Anyway no third party game except maybe ZombiU and Scribblenauts did well at launch and that's saying a lot on a 2.5m userbase.

You didn't think this through, the people who play black ops 2 and mass effect already own it. Why would they buy it again.

I saw what you posted before you edited it.
Since you quickly changed it I will only informally warn you.

OT: Black Ops 2 came out only 1 week before the WiiU launched. (a bit more in Europe)

First week sales were 11.5m, current lifetime sales are 21.5m now so there was a lot of room for the WiiU version.
