Forums - Gaming Discussion - The Big 3's owned Ip's Sony 221, MSFT 90, Nintendo, 96

Yesterday I decided to make a thread on First Party Studios to show that Microsoft had been working  on new studios.  The thread quickly blew up and even got a response thread by CGI.  The thread was never to show the quality of each studio or how many exclusives they have.  It was to show that Microsoft is working on new studios for next generation and partnerships that they have developed.  I compared them with Sony to give you guys a good picture of what they have been doing.  Now I will show you guys how many Ip's each company owns.  And hey, maybe you might see a Ip that you might want to make a return to next generation consoles.

Microsoft Studios (90)

Microsoft repeats:

Sony repeats:
Crash Bandicoot series (although these should be removed entirely - owned by Activision) - includes Crash Bash, not Crash Commando
Eye series
Go! series
Spyro series (again, owned by Activision, should be removed)
possibly Beyond series, Rapid series (I can't be certain, these may be unrelated games with similar names)

Sony Computer Entertainment  (221)

  • Nintendo (96)

Fixing nintendo at the moment

Microsoft could bring some back but should be making new ones more regularly.

Sony should bring several back but are juggling a lot right now and still trying to bring new ones.

Nintendo should really make some new ones.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

Updated

As much as I love the constant stream of new content, I really wish some of SONY's older stuff would stick around a bit longer.

I am pretty sure Blue dragon does not belong to microsoft, as titles have been released on the DS. Its mistwalkers. Dunno about lost odyssey.

I love me some wipeout... but Sony, please, a new Rollcage. That series was so much fun! It deserves a comeback.

And Nintendo is still last in this regard as well.

Crash Bandicoot
Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back
Crash Bandicoot: Warped
Crash Team Racing

Crash is 4 IPs but Mario is 1?

Nintendo's M IP's alone own everything MS and Sony got.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

I'm not sure you should be celebrating as most Microsoft IP's are Xbox live arcade stuff.
