I know quite a while ago there was a topic about books on here, but I haven't seen it in a long time. So, I've decided to make my own topic.

Post here when you buy books (or received some as gifts), when you want recommendations or want to give one, what you're currently reading, or anything else book related.

I'm currently reading The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien and The Last Apprentice: Curse of the Bane by Joseph Delaney.

Books are evil.

I'm reading the original Frankenstein right now.

I'm over half way though "A Memory of Light" the 14th and last of the Wheel of Time series. So far it has been fantastic.

It was just released earlier this month. I posted a thread about it: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=152562&page=1 But very few people replied so I guess there aren't many readers here.

I recently read Water for Elephants.

A few weeks later I see my dad watching the movie adaptation while visiting my parents house.

Werid.

I'm into Discworld novels right now. Current book is Jingo. "The Watch" series is by far my favorite in the discworld universe, I just love Vimes and the gang.

If anyone is interested to get into the discworld universe, pick up "Guards! Guards!" first. You will NOT be disappointed.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

I'm currently re-reading the A Storm of Ice and Fire books and The Hobbit. Apart from those I'm ofcourse a fan of the Lord of the Rings and I own a lot of Discworld books and I also enjoyed the His Dark Materials trilogy a lot.

Guns, Germs, and Steel from Jared Diamond, everyone should read.

Great thread idea!

I'm currently reading The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay by Michael Chabon. Finished Ender's Game about a week ago -- highly recommended to sci-fi fans.

I love The Hobbit and the His Dark Materials trilogy. I think Philip Pullman's other books are good too. Did you see The Hobbit movie?

yea, I watched it, it's good and made me want to read the book again (only read it once before - like 15 years ago hehe), but like LotR I think it's not as good as the book

I've yet to read another of Pullman's books, can you recommend one in particular?
