NOOOOOOOO i love my DS leave it alone!

I just hope the controller isn't huge like the Wii U gamepad. Keep it similar in size to the DS3.
Oh and of course I'd love to use my Dualshock 3's with my PS4 as well.

I love how dualshock grips. If they indeed change it I hope the analog sticks stay low.

First we get shitty motion controls now shitty touch screen controls, awesome. Is there gonna be any regular controller left anymore?

Sony moving towards a touchscreen controller? Doesn't surprise me those copycats!

And they are going to have a variety of compatible controllers...

PS Move = Wiimote
Touch screen controller = Wii U Gamepad
Basic controller = Wii U controller Pro

This alone makes the story very believable:

CVG understands that Sony has paid Immersion more than $150 million in damages, license fees and other costs since the settlement. However, a small portion (initially $20 million) of this was redirected to Microsoft, which owns about 10 per cent of Immersion.

Sony's licence agreement with Immersion ends in 2017, SEC documents show, but as part of the deal Immersion has given Sony an option to expand the scope of the licence for future consoles. However, the complications of the deal may have convinced Sony that it should seek different designs and ideas for its next controller.

Does this mean nextbox controllers are also going to change?

no. why would it?

Because your post highlights the fact that a portion of Immersion being owned by Microsoft, which led me to assume so. But then why wouldn't they? We can't be sure as of yet. If no, how would you ascertain it?

Its about time. Lets hope its not another bat-a-rang. That thing was hideous.

Making something ergonomic AND beautiful isn't necessarily compatible. I don't care what the controller looks like, I just want it to feel comfortable when I play.

The DualShocks are very good controllers, Sony should just transform the L2/R2 into triggers, make the controller wider and bigger and add Vitas d-pad= best controller evurr

I also hope they keep the Dualshock 3 as an option, I quite like it, just the triggers really need to be changed.
