Ditto.
this is another song I wrote about my Dad, except that I changed the story around so that it's about the loss of a mother, but I was thinking about my Dad when I wrote it:

And this is a live acoustic version of the song:

Some have told me this is my saddest song.
<EDIT: I fixed the link to the first video below, because I re-uploaded a slightly different re-edited version of the music video>
This is yet another sad song, and it's also a song that I wrote about my Dad, from what I saw when he was in a nursing home for 2 years:

and this is the female version of the song, she's a singer I hired who sounds like a cross between Celine Dion and Carrie Underwood, and I'm not exaggerating--she's got a very very powerful voice but also very expresssive:

Some people have told me this is my saddest song--yeah I know that I said that about the song above, but this song has made people cry too, I've have several songs that when I played it for people, some of them started crying.

For better or for worse, when I've played this song for my friends and co-workers, several of them started sobbing, even the ones that still have their Dads--just warning you..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxd2lYsFSq4 My question is: do you think this song is a little bit tooooooo sad? |
Great song! I like how you crafted the lyrics and how it sounds.
A slight criticism, though: your voice seems a bit muted/quiet in this song. I know it's a somber song and not meant to be loud but in my opinion (I want to stress this part ) adding a bit more volume would make it better.
Keep it up!
The BuShA owns all!

Thanks for the compliments!
Yeah, you may be right, the vocals could be a bit louder. In fact, when I mix songs that I know I'll pitch to the film/TV contacts I have, in hopes of getting a placement on film or TV (believe it or not, back in 2007 I had one of my songs placed on one episode of the ABC TV soap opera "One Life To Live", which is a show that came to an end last year I think), I usually boost the vocals louder than usual, because music supervisors of TV shows tend to like the vocals a little louder in the mix.
Oh, and thanks also for adding a comment to my new video "I'll See YOu In My Dreams"--female version!!
Here's another sad song, although this time, it's not about my Dad, I think I might have written toooo many songs about him after he passed away. But this song isn't about him:

Here's another sad song I wrote about my Dad, although I think the song in post #1 is a much better song, but actually, because this is an older song, I had taken a few lines from this song and put it in the song/music video in post #1.
The singer on this song is Rachel Williams.
Soon, I'll also be posting the male version of this song on my YouTube channel, but this song is from broadjam.com:

Lyrics seemed almost... forced? They didn't flow well, like you were forcing a rhythm on prose (my musical vocabulary is not good, so sorry if that isn't clear). A little cheesy too, but not bad.

Thanks for the comments, but which song were you talking about? The music video in the first post, or the song in the post immediately before your post?
