Yeah, the random character thing is total bullshit, but yeah, just spend $40 total and you'll get all the characters and the game! Then just spend another $4 per world and you can start buying them too! I'm going to check the game out, but I am skeptical now because of the random thing.
I just want Terra. |
Yeah, but if I spend $44 for an iOS game, I'm back to [o]Oh, it's a SE iOS game that's asking way too much money.
Anything about the $5 mark for an iOS game is awfully hard to swallow. If it gets above that price it better be pretty amazing and I don't really see anything from that game yet to convince that it's something other than a fun five minute diversion from time to time.

And I'm not actually against microtransactions. Give me a small price up front and make my micro transactions actually good and I'll love them. For instance, Knights of the Pen and Paper was a good up front game that you could buy currency to make the game go quicker or buy items. That's cool so I bought some currency.
Mega Jump-- I bought some currency to get better items.
Angry Birds-- sure, I bought some of those griffin things.
Ascensions-- I bought the expansions.
In all those cases I knew what I was getting and it seemed completely worth it. With this, I could buy a character and I have no idea if I'm getting something I want or if I'm getting something that's worthless to me. The only way to know that I'm going to get what I want is to pay another $40. Screw. That. Shit.
