A mix of both, the marketing sucks but the masses are also not interested in the system. Wii had a big hype going on, with systems sold out for months. It was something different. WiiU however is not, there are systems on store shelves, and people already have seen tablets so WiiUs biggest feature(the GamePad) is not an incentive for people to buy it.

I'm not even gonna talk about the launch line up and whats releasing in the next few months.

The launch lineup that was basically the best in any console since the GameCube?

Yes. Best not mentioned.

Thats subjective, the PS360 and Vita launch lineup were much better imo.

NSMBU

your argument is objectively invalid.

What the hell? My opinion is that PS30Vita launch were better, you're not gonna change or declare it invalid.

Advertisement sucks. Plain and simple.

Nintendo really should have shown us the capabilities of the system with a new game from Retro (or maybe Monolith), just to show that it's actually more powerful than PS360. And if it's not more powerful, why the hell would anyone buy this piece of shit when PS720 will come out within a year??

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

The Wii U doesn't have interesting games yet. Unless one wants to play yet another Mario Bros (don't people get tired of it?). It would interest people like me because of the Wii b/c. But we are still squeezing the juice out of the other 2 HD consoles, and especially the PS3 will have a great 2013 in terms of exclusives, so there isn't really the need to invest in another console, yet. It's better to wait and see what will happen with the new PS4/Xbox.

Aaaw, come on! CoD is released much more often - as is Halo!! A 3D Mario usually hits every 5 year, and a 2D Mario is even more rare! Well, that is until the "New"-series... Just because it has "Mario" in the title doesn't mean it's the same sort of game. Are Mario Kart and Mario Galaxy the same sort of game?

Huh? What? CoD? Halo? What are those? Something to eat? I don't like cod, I prefer mackarel!! ^_^

Seriously, from what I wrote you really believed that I am one wasting money (and the more precious time!!) on crappy FPS? Wii b/c, 2013 PS3 exclusives didn't ring a bell? At least 3 of them will be new IPs: The Last of Us, Beyond: Two Souls, Ni No Kuni. No karting nor galaxy either. And in any case from what I've seen the Mario for Wii U is the collecting coins one. Aren't you guys sick of it? If Iwas to buy a Wii U for the Wii b/c it would be for Zelda and the JRPG. And maybe few others gems. Mario, like the FPS, would stay out of my system. I'm not interested. Sorry.

Why the hell did people buy the Wii when the PS360 had obviously better graphics?

The "New" Mario games are only one per console, we won't see another NSMB game until Nintendo's next console or handheld.

Because Wii offered something new: motion controls. And so far the advertisements haven't shown off the Wii U as something unique; they suck too much

Despite the Ads not showing the new controls, the Wii U does have them. Your arguement is technically flawed. (Minus the Ad part of it, that's (very) correct.)

The Wii U seems like it was a selfishly made console, as in made FOR nintendo fans, especially those that also have PS360s. I won't undermine the gamepad etc, because I love it, but MOST PEOPLE NEED a VISUAL demonstration, that yes, this is in fact a substantial upgrade over the old systems.

Its pretty much the 3ds situation, it will take off once the price drops, especially when its going against the more expensive new M$sony consoles. White barebones @ $249, deluxe $299, like most wanted for launch.

So IMO its not about the games, its the entry price, like Vita, that people are turned off by. If Nintendo wanted to truly gain the hardcore fan, they would have more power, selling it at their current price point, and once that crowd has the hardware thats when software will make up for those losses. But Nintendo isn't aggressive like that as we all know, IMO they really failed on capitalizing on Wii's name/success. This was their time to get "revenge" with the gamecube situation....oh well.

Games, Games, Games, and more Games!!

The Wii U is only appealing to a certain market right now, its core fans! Without top released software titles other gamers aren't going to make the switch from PS360.
