How long will they keep holding this game back? In the 90's they could have programmed 2 new FFs in the meantime...

The only reason I'm still optimistic about it's prospects is because the game is already finished. Versus, on the other hand...

I hope they turn it into the final fantasy collection with FFX, FFXII and maybe FFVII dirge of Cerberus. It shouldn't take this long to upscale just one game.

With how long the game has been in some form of planning or development stage, if it's just an HD upscaling that would be extremely disappointing.  Also it would do very little to improve Vita sales in Japan.  A complete, full-scale remake like Ocarina of Time received for 3DS would be more along the lines of what I think most people are hoping for.  It was announced over a year ago.

I think has been finished for a long time (wasn't it supposed to release shortly after the launch?) and SE just holds it back until they think Vita's userbase is big enough.
