I just am doing a poll here to see if anyone actually will, and it shows up overwhelmingly no, it would then be interesting to see why people are calling Microsoft's next console that when nobody else believes what it is.  Consider it just a study of why things get adopted.  And it may end up fitting into the Abilene Paradox category, how something becomes convention that no one really agrees with:

I would agree with that.  But it seems that is not what people call it.  Well, maybe I am wrong and there is a sound basis for why it is getting called the XBox 720.

Anyhow, I hope people vote genuine here and don't go with it just to be cute.  I think maybe a basis for this is to ask if people believe it because it is what they reasoned out, or because it is said so much, people are believing it.  So, thus, the poll.

They would be quite foolish to throw away the brand recognition that has sprung up around "xbox 720". Companies pay millions of dollars to get their products so well known.
