No, the wtf is why would Nintendo put their best team and HD-level resources into making Pikmin 3, when Pikmin 3 will sell under a million and with those resources NSMB U and hence Wii U may have sold a lot more?

With Wii Music, why was the game made at all? Was there any expected market demand for such a thing?

With Nintendo Land, it's Japanese as hell and the exact opposite of the clean and simple Wii Sports. And again no one was asking for it.

So I conclude they made those three games because they wanted to, not because the market did. And that would be fine if they were also making games the market demonstrably does want (do not confuse that with 'the Nintendo core wants')

I think Nintendo will see some domination again when Nextbox/PS4 arrive, but it won't be like the Wii, not unless they have a MAJOR ace up their sleeves^^

a Nintendo "ace" I'm personally still waiting for is a full blown home console Pokémon MMORPG that has a world as lush and detailed as in the movies

not sure it will ever come though

Whoa, don't you think this game would be taken off the market? 20Mil people skipping work for months is intolerable^^

nah, I think being a Pokémon trainer would then be an honarable occupation ;)

Im not confusing what the Core market wants! Yes we all want Zelda, DK, NSMB (any Mario), MK, SSB, Pokemon. I understand you but you have to realize there are other franchise's that need to be made! Why cant they go all out for pikmin 3? Its more popular than it was before! It hasn't had a game in almost a decade! And how do you kno it wont sell a mil? I bet it'll have 3mil lifetime. Dont forget it was release on GCN and was not heard of. Same can be said of Luigi's Mansion. Its a game that will easily surpass the original, and sell so much (over 5mil). Other games include Starfox and F-Zero!!!

Edit: I agree with Wii Music... Thats a WTF game lol but Pikmin your really underselling man!

It will happen when Nintendo stop making the games they want to make (Pikmin, Nintendo Land, Wii Music wtf) and start making games that have sold well in the past but really try and make them more awesome (NSMB + some actual effort/production value, that really epic Zelda people want minus annoying helpers/cutscenes/boats/trains, Wii Sports sequel that sets a new standard for motion fidelity and use).

I personally don't blame them for trying to create new ips. It's actually a good think. Maybe one day they can make a new mascot. I believe that had LBP been released on the wii, it would have pulled amazing numbers.

So you want Nintendo to produce shooters (because that's obviously what the market "wants")? I think Miyamoto was interested in making one :D

But why shouldn't Nintendo satisfy it's core? These games all made over 5 million up to 12 million sales.

Wii music was actually a good idea. Look at the (past) success of Singstar and the (current) sales of the just dance games. They're pure gold. Extremely low production values and huge sales.

You're STILL thinking like a Nintendo fan. The vast majority of people who may potentially buy Nintendo games do not care at all about franchises that need to be made.

Why cant they go all out for pikmin 3? Its more popular than it was before!

Because it doesn't make financial sense.

It hasn't had a game in almost a decade! And how do you kno it wont sell a mil?

Because the other two didn't and nothing has really changed. And games don't 'deserve' to be made because there hasn't been one in a while or because people on forums want them. They only deserve to be made when they can sell more than anything else the developer could make with those resources.

I bet it'll have 3mil lifetime.

Explain.

Dont forget it was release on GCN and was not heard of. Same can be said of Luigi's Mansion.

You and Nintendo both share the delusion that the customer can be blamed for poor sales. How about, people didn't want to buy those games?

Its a game that will easily surpass the original,

By. your. core. Nintendo. values. which. the market. doesn't. share.

and sell so much (over 5mil). Other games include Starfox and F-Zero!!!

Which sold terribly compared to what they could making out of all the 10m+ and 20m+ selling games on catalogue.

Wrong genre. Those games played completely differently and in the minds of the casual consumer do not do the same job.

Does Paper Mario do the same job as NSMB? They both have Mario and jumping.

Even though i'm 99.99% Sony fan i would love to see the WiiU dominating the charts Nintendo seems to need it more than Sony right now. So they can just laugh at the haters and stockholders and say HAHA SCREW YOU!!

Nintendo needs it more than Sony?

Nobody needs it more than Sony!

Ok so your telling me since Luigi's mansion sold only 3.80mil that its stupid to make another? Only games that need to be made are 10mil+ games? Then i guess Sony is ****ed and Microsoft only can make Halo! Right? This is what your implying! Also Pikmin sold over 1½mil and pikmin 2 sold over a mil.... Where are you getting your numbers? here is mine............http://www.vgchartz.com/gamedb/?name=pikmin&publisher=&platform=&genre=&minSales=0&results=200
