Soon with the production stopping in japan and the rest will soon follow im guessing sometime in 2013 all stock will all be sold.

I expect this year. They'll probably really start pushing PS3 to replace PS2 in those emerging markets. They can't have support 3 home consoles.....

I'm guessing the announcement of PS2 producting stopping will coincide with a PS4 announcement.

It will continue to sell to developing markets for a couple of years probably. It will stop at about 160 to 170 million, i say. It certainly trumped it's competition, i would say

I think it will be discontinued in Europe and the US before the year's end and then in 2014 in more places and will finally be officially discontinued everywhere.

Whoa, that's a long time.  I doubt it, though.  Within a year or so, I'm sure Sony will replace the PS2 with the PS3 in those regions.  It will surely be cheap enough to sell there by then.
