Forums - Gaming Discussion - oh my god. 95 % - the best rpg on this generation, its coming.

The game does look nice, especially if you are into Ghibli movies. The game really bombed in Japan though. The DS version did decent although it was overshipped. The PS3 version did terrible though and it hit the bargain bin pretty quickly. I still see new special edition Ni no Kuni PS3 consoles available.

Me since the games were revealed, the fanboys since E3."

as i said " the game was originally made for the DS which has a much younger target audience than the ps3 anyway."

people who wanted to play the game already had in on their DS

I don't understand the complaint about it looking like its targeted for younger audience. Is Mario and Pokemon targeted for younger audience? I mean I still see a ton of people buy those games that is well over the age of 20.

CPU: Ryzen 7950X
GPU: MSI 4090 SUPRIM X 24G
Motherboard: MSI MEG X670E GODLIKE
RAM: CORSAIR DOMINATOR PLATINUM 32GB DDR5

Gaming Console: PLAYSTATION 5

I would almost buy a PS3 just for this game. Dam!

look, there are child friendly movies like "My Neighbor Totoro" but still interesting for adults.

it is not just about the design and the art. it's about the story and the characters as well. personally i feel they made this one a bit too childish

since people are talking about it , I invested 100s of hours into each Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim and Morrowind imo is the best in terms of art direction, customization, spells, and just sheer sense of adventure. Skyrim has the best combat as combat kind of sucked in Morrowind and once you hit a certain level you were pretty much invincible. Oblivion was kind of middle of the road. Three great games all the same though.

And OT its always nice to see more JRPGs coming out stateside. I love the genre personally. Arc Rise Fantasia, Xenoblade, Last Story... three of my favorite games this gen. I dont own a ps3 personally but my brothers psn account are full of the classic rpgs that I bought for the PS1 just out of the great memories I have with them. I hope this game sells well to send a message that the people do still want these titles out here

Games are fun.

Aren't they different games? I thought they are only based in the same universe, but their stories are different.

I'm beginning to think that RPGs is subjective to the individual. They are like cloths, books, and music, we each have our top picks. If I were to tell you that Dragon's Dogma was my favorite JRPG for the PS3, I'm sure many people would disagree with me.

After this year I've learned one thing. Never listen to the opinions of editors or "professional" game review sites. Almost of the games that I adore were self-picked with the exception of a few my friends gave to me when I first experimented with playing video games.

I'm 32 now and child stories, re-used cliches, top of the line graphics, and good marketing scheme is not enough to warrant my purchase. I guess what I'm trying to say is, that no matter how much the internet praises a game, from now on I'm gonna to:

1st: Not warrant their opinions.
2nd: Not spoil my picks with video game reviews. (I'll still read to see if has glitches)
3rd: Not buy games that are out of usual preferences.

Yes, I think I'm getting old.

I am really excited about it too! If it lives up to expectations could be my 2013 GOTY.

I'd have preferred they do it with a more mononoke style and I think that woulda made a funner game.  I don't like newer Mario style either. But its sells heh.

It looks good. Still don't see liking it more than persona, deus ex, or dark souls tho at least from the demo.
