Forums - Gaming Discussion - Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Demo (Konami killed Metal Gear)

Platinum Games are mediocre developers. I played the demo for Vanquish and didn't even bother to finish it because it bored me, I bought Bayonetta pre-owned for £5 because I've seen a lot of people praise it but honestly it's a middling game that wasn't even worth the price I paid. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance looks even worse than Bayonetta, when they release a demo I'll try it like I try everything but I pretty much know I'm going to hate it.

I'll get banned if I speak truth right now, I'll say this and never come back to this thread lol.
1. A Spin-Off title doesn't NOT have to represent the original work of a game series, doesn't even need to have the same characters. Also, unless you were not following the game, Never was this intended to be a title of the series nore did Kojima himself care for this title at first. This is a action game and actually funny thing is, did you play through Metal Gear Solid 2? Quite alot of the games Idea came from that.
2. How is this not a Metal Gear... Please, That's like saying Mario Tennis isn't Mario cause it isn't like the original mario, or Sonic Riders isn't Sonic because its not like the original series, or even Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII isn't Final Fantasy because its entirely different gameplay style from Final Fantasy VII.
3. From the beginning it was stated this isn't a title in the Solid series, if you didn't notice, the Series is actually Metal Gear, with Solid making itself a sub series under the Metal Gear Name as well as Ac!d, it is also a sub series under the title. It's like Persona and Devil Summoner, both Shin Megami Tensi, but Persona is it's own Sub series which is more known and more popular, while Devil Summoner is a less popular sub series. You can look at those games and see how different they are.
4. I suggest thinking over what you're making a thread for in the future. Making these style of threads, that seem to lack the research or knowledge on what is being spoken of will leave you alot of hate. Cause in my opinion it sounds like you basically just said "Anything that strays from the Metal Gear Solid Style gameplay isn't allowed to be Metal Gear."
The truth, Metal Gear I, Metal Gear II, are real Metal Gear Main titles, Solid is no more Metal Gear then Rising or Ac!d technically and they cannot be used as reasons the other cannot be Metal Gears. It's like using Mario Party to tell why Mario Kart isn't a Mario Game, and saying because Mario Kart plays more like racing games qnd not like Mario Party, yet Mario Party and Mario Kart are both Sub series of a series of Mario games, damn you can flip the script and say Mario Party ain't Mario and use Mario Kart as reference and it wouldn't make sense.
Hope you understand that. if not. Then I don't know, would be sad.

Do not think you'll get banned for that and I agree 100% with you :)

I LOVE the Metal Gear serie and this game is a spin-off; which has been stated many time by a lot of people. So expecting this game to be a stealth game is like seriously ignoring what the developer and the publisher keeps repeating for months now: this is NOT a stealth game > Metal Gear Solid 5 is going to be the next stealth game.

It is very rare to have spin-offs of a game like Metal Gear (Acid and this one). Being a MGS fan; I'm pretty happy to be able to play in the same settings but in a completly different game. Not to mention that this game looks incredible (a Bayonetta like).

I do not see the point of this thread.

Did people bitch about Metal Gear AC!D? Serious question.

Yes... a lot... even the reviwers.

At the least Peace Walker the people loved at the point to say it is one of the best Metal Gear ever created.

I guess some people will just never get it. Oh well.
