It's a spin off, focused on hack and slash. So, no they did not kill the franchise just because of a spin off.

Capcom DID kill Resident Evil, because RE5/RE6 were horrible.

Demo is fun, looking forward to the game. It is a choice one can make to let go of self-entitlement and self-serving preconceptions.

I know, right? How can you make it clear that, I don't know, a game like Super Mario Tennis isn't in fact a platformer. -_-

Is this a official artwork? Never seen it before. But you know how artworks can give a completely wrong impression of a game? This one doesn't even have Lightning Bolt Action written on it. I get your point, but that was a bad example. 

No, that was not a bad example. The Lightning Bolt Action part you mention was from when the game was titled Metal Gear Solid: Rising and it has been removed, like the "solid" part of the title, when the development of the game switched to Platinum Games. Metal Gear Solid: Rising thus became Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.

I've had the demo for a few months now, but since I'm assuming I'm going to hate it, I haven't played it yet.

But yeah, I didn't really follow the development of this game since Platinum games took over development, the first trailer from them dissapointed me. The game looked cooler before
