It was made quite Clear that MGR is NOT a Metal Gear. Pretty much everyone involved with the project has stated as much. LoS is different as thats trying to be a Castlevania but comes off as Lord of the Rings, MGR was never trying to be MG. MGS: GZ is Metal Gear Koonami hasnt killed anything.

I'm sorry, but if you don't want it to be compared to Metal Gear don't put it in the title. Just shows how the developers want to cash in on the big name.

what?

1. It is a spin off. Just like Mario Party or Pokemon mystery dungeon There is no justification in comparing it to Metal Gear when its officially stated to be not Metal Gear?

2. Publisher wanting to take Big IP and expand/Milk  it to rake the money the money in.. ya know, like KINGDOM HEARTS!!! *gasp*

1. Well, as far as I'm aware all of these games were compared to the main series and some of them were heavily critizised (especially Pokemon Ranger for example)

2. I'm fully aware of that, but if you want to milk your franchise you should be able to bear the critcism for it. Btw. I'm pretty sure I could report you for the bolded part (read Paragraph 13 of the forum rules), but I won't. We're all adults here.

I tried the demo and it is amazing, also not surprised you didn't like another stellar game: Castlevania LoS ("meh" experience? smh...)

I played the first chapter of LoS and it was so boring for me that I stopped to play others game... almost a year after I played again just to got Platinum but the experiense were boring and tiresome.

I just don't like the game... God of Wars is more fun... even Bayonetta is more fun than LoS.

And the Rising gamplay (except the Katana Mode) is very similar to LoS... I didn't like.

Maybe it's not my kind of game...

As someone who has enjoyed several Clover Studio/Platinum Games titles, I'm looking forward to Metal Gear Rising. I haven't seen or played the demo yet, but I'm expecting it to be dramatically different from the main Metal Gear titles since it's a spin-off.

2.Milking/expanding a franchise is never a problem. Milking/expanding a franchise with lower quality titles than whats usually for the franchise is. Criticism of spin off for not being like a main game which is why its a spin off is stupid.

All im saying is that there is no reason for us to be shocked about MGR's direction. When the game was announced it was stated thats its not a Metal Gear and that people wanting a real Metal Gear had to wait. THEY told us that. We have known this since day one.

This isnt like Castlevania LoS. We were tricked with that game. This isnt the case with MGR. You know what your going in to.

We are aware of that. But I think our discussion went in the wrong direction since the beginning. I focused too much on the Metal Gear part of the title and not so much on the Rising part. This game still is "MGS Rising: Revengence" for me. But you can't deny that even Metal Gear Rising could lead some people into expecting a stealth game, especially since "tactical espionage action" never was highlighted on the cover, so "lightning bolt action" won't be too. And if people manage to mistake Playstation Vita for a different modell of Playstation Portable I'm even more sure of it.

Is it anything like the trailers? If yes, I'm sure I'll enjoy it. They can't ruin a franchise with a spin-off.

It is exactly this demo but wth english audio and portuguese subtitles (for me).

It did? I came here for 2 reasons:

1.Ethomaz states Koonami killed MGS with a spin off that may end up being Awesome.

2. He is shocked a spinoff doesnt play or look like a its main counterpart. Why? We were told this.

You quoted me and as far as I can see, were on the right direction.

Wrong direction in sense of how we discussed, not what points we stated. Other than that I'm also being pretty satisfied ith how this discussion went, since having different thoughts is what enables a good discussion.

I honestly always expected this game to be kind of bad and in all honesty it looks like a Ninja Giaden 3 game, that's a bad thing for anyone wondering.
