Mainly by the fact that the next PlayStation and XBOX are going to have superior hardware. Perhaps making the Wii U as outdated for it's time as the Wii was.

At the moment I would say Nintendo's biggest obstacle is the A. unknown ...

While they are not as agressive as they could be, Nintendo's strategy seems to be to position themselves to capitalize on the mistakes Sony and Microsoft are likely to make. They have released their system earlier, at a reasonable price, and are trying to get cross-platform third party support with the HD consoles and if Sony or Microsoft make a mistake Nintendo is in a good position to benefit from it.

Essentially, it isn't that much different from what they did with the 3DS; and as long as the PS-Vita struggles the 3DS' position gets stronger.

The problem is that Nintendo really doesn't know what B. Sony or Microsoft are going to do, and they may not make any significant mistakes that benefit Nintendo.

A. The waiting game.

B. it could also be that Sony and Microsoft dont really know what to do either lol.

This generation will become more like a game of chess.

As I've said before, I don't think that is much of a real risk ...

The Wii U is more expensive, larger, and runs hotter than the Wii was at launch because the Wii U is (relatively speaking) more advanced hardware. While it may not represent a massive leap above the HD consoles that could be explained by the HD consoles being more expensive, being larger and running hotter than any major console before because they were releasing hardware that was years ahead of what was typical for a console manufacturer. To get a similar advantage over the Wii U next generation consoles would be even more expensive, larger and run hotter than the PS3 and XBox 360 did which would likely make them very unpopular.

The use of "fact" is not appropriate when following with speculation. Take this into consideration before you decide to dirty the word further.

WHERE IS MY KORORINPA 3

The Europeans, as it seems of now.

Having the same multiplats as the ps360 and not even all of them. Later offering either inferior versions of those multiplats and only few of them. People will wait for sony/ms consoles and ignore the wii u.

The competition offering vastly superior products.

Watch it.

So you think that sony/ms will be releasing only slightly more powerful consoles than their current hw?

ugh...troll mines everywhere
anyway, the biggest challenge Nintendo has to face is the rapidly increasing budget standard

Trolls fear the big N. Trolls are like the bed bug of the gaming industry.
