Forums - Gaming Discussion - Doom Creator Says Many Next-Gen Games Will Still Target 30 fps

Works fine for me on BF3. Don't see a problem with it.

i thought so. i mean, they could make as example uncharted 4 with great graphics and 60fps and 1080p or the same with 30fps and even better graphics. what will naughty dog do? or other developers who would have to increase the res and the fps and still improve the general graphics to make it a real difference to this gen.

higher res+2x as much fps alone costs so much more power, i really don't see that as standard for most games next gen.

If it's possible I would prefer 720p at 60fps (This will depend on the game obviously). That's the best configuration next gen games will have imo. Although if this is true and this guy have access to the PS4/Omni dev kits then what Sony said about targeting 1080p with 60fps will be BS for various games.

yeah and that also depends how people use their tv, i sit very close to my big tv so i really see a difference between 720p and 1080p but for others, there is not even a difference to see so why should they hope for 1080p right? but just imagine a game which is 30fps and 720p right now and how much more power you would need to make exactly the same game in 1080p and 60fps. many developer won't do this and will concentrate in other stuff to let the games look better which should make sense for some games.

"¡Viva la Ñ!"

And this is why I would rather have a gaming PC than a console. At least then you can choose between performance and eyecandy.

games like cod and raceing games need 60 fps other need 30
