No. The problem is Sony has too many exclusives to advertise. Microsoft has a few games and plenty of money to advertise those games which is why they get so much love and attention. |
It is possible Sony sits between Nintendo and Microsoft regarding exclusives. Microsoft does some and pushes their flagships heavier. They also do smaller releases to meet certain niches, but don't have the strongest need for their titles being the top ones on their console. Nintendo has been all about first party, to the extent they felt a need to work on it. And it seems Sony would be in the middle of the two regarding exclusives. Today, exclusives are almost completely first party.

just did a quick google search: Sony's yearly marketing budget: 5 billion USD (in 2009) Microsofts budget is way smaller than Sonys.
Sources: "Sony is looking to concentrate its nearly $5bn annual advertising firepower on a smaller number of products to “reinvent its marketing”, senior executives at the company said." "Advertising in Redmond was $1.6 billion in fiscal 2012 (its year ends in June), $1.9 billion in 2011, and $1.6 billion in 2010. As a percentage of sales, advertising was 2.2%, 2.7%, 2.6%."

all that money
They should increase more game teasers like soul sacrifice and if they release other known titles like Monster Hunter, Devil May Cry, God Of War and Phantasy Star. They should announce it as soon as possible. right now they only have titles like Persona 4 which slightly hype the vita but Persona 4 is an old game on PS2. they should focus on new titles like Ragnarok Odyssey, Dokuro, Gravuty Rush and Uncharted for promotion purposes.
