oh my GOD. THIS is the SHIT!!!

This is the ultimate solution to my media needs. So far I've relied on windows media center and Netflix. I thought smart glass would make them user friendly but it doesn't support those apps. It doesn't even let you type in YouTube!

Now I have all my movie files on a Nintendo tablet plus shows. This alone makes the WiiU better that the competition. Thank you cusman!

It does work simpler than DLNA type setup/support between PC and X360 / PS3. The main issue with X360 / PS3 was whether they have the video codecs or not for the various video files you might have on your PC. The PlayOn service is using the PC codecs to somehow make the video and then streaming those to Wii U browser compatible format.

The PlayOn setup seems easier and the interface is also easier because it is more consistent regardless of what Channel you are using. Just have to learn one interface. It's pretty interesting software.

I was hoping someone here with HBO Go would give their impressions. I don't have the subscription to try... but I really want to watch Game of Thrones Season 2 and beyond.

it works well I have to say, I already have an ipad that I'd prefer to use for video steaming but it's nice that it works.

Too bad the iPad doesn't turn on ur tv and control what gets displayed.

Nintendoes what others don't hehe

the ipad's still got the gamepad beat for video streaming, it would be pretty awkward to lay in bed with the gamepad and watch a video before going to bed.  Oh and my ipad does have a panasonic TV remote app that controls my TV.

It worked but I'm so paranoid that I uninstalled it from my PC, anyway. It's too good to be true.

Today Nintendo TVii is supposed to be out but I am traveling on vacation so can't try it out until after New Years. I hope it is not disappointing and really does address the problem of quickly and easily finding content across multiple service providers.

I use

  • Netflix
  • Amazon Instant Video
  • Hulu Plus (native & also tried the PlayOn version)
  • Vudu  (not yet on Nintendo Wii U)
  • CinemaNow (not yet on Nintendo Wii U)
  • YouTube (movies part I don't think integrating with Nintendo TVii anytime soon)
  • AT&T U-Verse basic Cable channels
I really hope Vudu makes it to Wii U soon. That one has the highest quality video/audio streaming for them AAA blockbuster streaming movie rentals I like to do.

So is this available to those of us unlucky enough to live in the UK..?

Unlucky to live in the UK? Hah! I'm more interested in the TVii app anyway, anyone know when that's out in the UK?

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.
