The only problem is that it's not true. If Gears was selling like the Halo series and Uncharted was selling 3 million copies of each game, then it might be true.
Exclusives not only sell more on the 360, but on all segments, increasingly so, and especially on the emerging ones :
Retail X360 vs retail PS3 : Xbox wins (and at a higher price point per exclusive sold 
)
XBLA vs PSN : Xbox crushingly wins (and this is where Sony truly lags)
Kinect vs Move : Xbox crushingly wins (to be more precise - won - as Move cannot even be considered a competitor)
And this is why gentlemen the common perception that Xbox exclusives sell more than their PS counterpart is... so true

You name two games. You have to realize that there is so many more games than that. If you want a head to head with the biggest titles and leave out PC/360 hybrids to justify your reasons then it may be a little more even. But in the end no matter how you slice it the 360 has sold more software, and Im not just saying 1st party, but 3rd party as well. You are talking top 10 vs top 10 more than anything which are going to be pretty even for the most part. A business does not work that way though, all software makes the 360/PS3 money. And Jay520 mentioned Forza being bundeled earlier is actually amusing since every exclusive on both gets bundled. It is also a business strategy that Im not going to get into now. Right now you are using your opinions or trying to find ways to justify your reasons but in the end MS has sold more on there end. This is not including the success of arcade or XBL.
This whole bundleing thing needs to stop on vgchartz. Ill probably post a thread tomorrow with all bundeled 1st party games. It's sad that bundles gets mentioned so much.

Gears 1 and fable 3 should definitely be included, both series are know for being Xbox franchises and came out for the Xbox way before pc. With just those 2 games Xbox is over 10 million ahead. Alan wake and l4d should probably be included too.

Take out the GT, Uncharted and all the other bundled ps3 sales then? No?? Well add Kinect back in. It's still an exclusive. We like seeing the 360 succeed even if we don't play kinect ourselves. You are not us, don't speak for us.

The original Mass Effect should not be in the list anymore. It's not that big of a deal, but it's not exclusive anymore.
whats surprising is how even 3rd party games are now selling more on ps3 straight away. just recently AC3 and far cry 3 and even if the 360 version sells more the first few weeks, the ps3 version of these games have stronger legs and end ups passing it. maybe microsofts strong focus on kinect is showing?
It's been proven time and time again.....but it won't stop them from thinking it's anything but the case
just something to argue about. by the end of this gen. PS3 exclusive total will have out sold that of 360 exclusives by a fair margin.
But what about Nintendo exclusives? :)
