Well, going by this generation I would hope Sony get SEGA's IPs. They are the ones who not only release their hardware as region-free, but they have a great track record of localizing titles.

Plus they could add Sonic to PSASBR.


..cause that would help reduce the "clone" stigma so many choose to believe.

I would rather Nintendo buy them but from a logic standpoint it'll be bad for sega since multi plat sonic games sell more than just on one console (except mario and sonic olypic) and they also have ps exclusive like yakuza series i believe so i say no to both companies!!!

They were my two favourite companies in gaming, so I love the idea. It will never happen though.

Try Sonic Generations if you haven't. It's enjoyable. There's probs much more potential to the franchise, but I kind of like it's current form, it's defo a step ahead of what it once was (Generation gives you both to easily compare).

i actually just got it like 2 months ago.  i put it down pretty quick though.  dunno, maybe i'm just not a sonic fan but i thought the game wasn't good enough to keep playing.  not bad, just not good enough to be worth finishing as oppose to playing something else.

The only console maker I could see making that purchase would be microsoft, but I doubt they would since they are so dead in japan. More likely sega stays independent or gets picked up by another game publisher rather then a hardware maker.

hell no. Don't get me wrong..sega has brought some wonderful games and I have some that I absolutely adore but nah it's not really worth it imho.

They SHOULD however buy the valkyria chronicles IP. Won't cost them much I think. The IP has so much potential..quality AND sales wise

As cool as that would be I don't believe Sony is in the right kind of position to buy such a large publisher. SEGA does just fine as its own company. Although, Sony helping fund projects for PS3 exclusivity would be a better move like Nintendo is doing. That way they can pick and choose what titles they think would be the best match for their fans.
