I don't understand. Anybody care to explain?

Many XBLA titles have received lots of praise and have been hailed as some of the best games on the system for years now.

When we do these "list wars", some people were extremely adamant that downloadable games didn't count.  Also, kiddie games didn't count, motion controlled games didn't count, and any game shared with the PC didn't count.  Now, it seems that we're reaching a point where downloadable titles are good enough to be used in these console comparisons (namely PS3 vs 360).

The reality is that every game has always counted.  I was just pointing out how absurd it has always been to exclude games because "It's not hardcore enough" when making console comparisons.  With Journey and, to a lesser degree, The Unfinished Swan being the best the PS3 has had to offer this year, PS3 fans are willing to look at digital download titles as "real games" worthy to be used in list wars of the imaginary console war.

--really, this whole thread was just going to be a reply in a thread but I thought certain people would get a kick out of it.  You seem like a pretty level headed gamer so don't worry about this thread.  It's nothing.

I've always "counted" all games regardless of how they are distributed. One of my favorite games this year was Quantum Conundrum. I still wish I could have placed it on my gaming shelf, but being a digital only game didn't stop me from enjoying it almost as much as Portal 2 and just as much as Portal.
