Forums - Sony - Potential Sony buyout situation for Insomniac. Fate all rests on Fuse

Well sales say otherwise.  Not a commercial success by any means.

Resistance was an average series at best that intially sold because there was nothing else on PS3 and it was bundled to high heaven, each iteration did worse and the last was poor in execution and sales. Sales reduced by 50% each time.

Ditto for Ratchet more or less.

Spyro? No game since 2000.  Not a game for the modern era?

I don't see any value in that lot. None. Over rated developer.  Let them die and take the talent. That's the sensible approach.

Actually, Skylanders is pretty popular. They just lost the IP, I think.

Just curious... Is anyone even slightly interested in Fuse?

Me but only if I start hanging out with people outside of school and work. Which is pretty hard considering my friends are scattered in the country.
It looks like a decent co-op... It has co-op from what I gather. Am i correct?

Fuse looked interresting before it became generic. The concept of the first video was nice.

They kind of said that the final game wont have the humoristic touch of the preview,,, its a no go .

Sony should buy them out, seriously. Look at their new game. It looks so boring and unoriginal, no creativity went to it at all.

Even if it happens, nothing changes as they always made exclusive games.

And their recent games just are underwhelming, or sales flops with critical acclaim. Buying them will just be more bills and salaries to pay.

I say do it Sony :)

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I'd say Sony is not interested after Resistance 2 and 3

If Sony is to acquire some developer, it has to be Quantic Dream or Tarsier(LBP Vita)

BTW, Fuse looks so generic.

That would be fantastic.

I dont think a boyout of Quantic Dream is a good idea. Quantic Dream is verry dependant on David Cage and his writing and if he would leave whats left? They already own the Havy rain and beyond ip anyway i think.

Tarsier or ready at dawn would be the better choice (though i would wait a bit on tarsier and see what else they are capable of)

And OT i don't think a bouyot of insomniac would be a good idea given their recent performance.... Not saying the games are bad but the money would better be invested in someting that could give them a better return.

Edit: Actually if they were to buy another studio i think i'd rather they buy a japanese one. They'd do well to get a stronger footing there.

Fuse is gonna tank..unless it's gonna be a surprise hit or something'

can you believe it? They changed the fucking game from Overstrike to Fuse cuz of a FOCUS GROUP! smh

Well, third parties tend to be more "businessy" than first-party studios. The first parties are good at providing direction for developers working under their umbrella, knowing more about who their audience is and having more desire to let subordinate developers thrive.

Third parties are more dominated by groupthink and short-term profiteering, while first parties think in terms of audience and reputation-building, and long-term profit-building.

based on insomniac's more recent work...i'd say it is in sony's best interest not to buy them.

??? Resistance 3 is one of the best shooters of this gen.

Is it the same thing? Only a portion of the article with the link to the same website and him never rejoining the discussion? If so then I feel like the mods need to send him a message about it. Not a warning or a ban just a "Hey, this isn't a website for hits. Post the entire article and be active in the conversation to your threads." and then warn and ban if he continues the same shit

Yes, it's exactly the same. I've reported all four so far since yesterday and no mod response.

guy posted some link, started a 5 page discussion (so far), good job, keep things busy? As for copying an entire article, I think that is a bad thing, your essentially stealing hits from a website, perhaps part of an article and click for the rest, but still.
