Thanks! They're very fun to make. Have you considered making one?

Maybe, I don't know. I have done some general history scenarios before so I sort of enjoy this kind of stuff. Maybe I could do one about those market researchers being right and the PS3 sweeping to win the generation by a large margin and how it would affect the next generation and so...

The hard part of that would be creating a single point where the PS3 could have destroyed everythin in its path.

Maybe it could have existed as a weaker machine for a lower price? Sort of like the PS2/Xbox relationship all over again.

Or maybe Sony could have never made the PSP, thus giving the PS3 its full attention. I bet having a company like Ready at Dawn creating a Jak and Daxter game early in the PS3's life would have helped sales, and only having to make one Gran Turismo would help Polyphony Digital get GT5 done at a reasonable time.

Or how's this for a crazy idea: What if, instead of going to Activision, Sony bought Infinity Ward to make Call of Duty games as PlayStation exclusives, depriving the 360 of its biggest series?

That's a possibility. Sony buying COD way early and then it becoming a major success exclusive to the PS3 2007 and onwards.

Or maybe having the consumer mindset to simply favor Sony as they expected and all the early promissed exclusives remaining exclusives (DMC 4, AC, FFXIII...).

How much more powerful would wii need to be in order to run games in hd and how much more more would it cost?

I think it would have to be about 4 times as powerful, which would raise the price by at least $100 at launch. And even then, it would still be the weakest system of the 3.

I was thinking what if nintendo released the wii with the minimal amount of power to run in hd and also if motion controls were optional, it could release at $299 with just a standard controller and at $349 bundled with a wiimote+nunchuk and wii sports, it might sell at a lose initialy but i dont think by much since they could have sold wii at $199 for a profit

The problem is, if a controller like the Wiimote is optional, it's a real bother getting any games to require it. Just look at how well the Kinect and Move libraries have blossomed. If Nintendo really believed in the Wiimote, including it with every system would have been a must.

Well i figure all the nintendo games would have the option to use it and it would still cause alot of hype for casual gamers with wii sports/play/fit and just dance. And it would probably be easier on 3rd parties that could choose whether or not to use it and it might be powerful enough to handle the major multiplats at least for the first few years even if they were slightly dumbed down
