FOr two reasons:
1. Rockstar said they had no plans releasing the game on NEXT GEN systems
2. WiiU is launching it's own spin on a GTA sandbox style game:

if the courted them, surely we would have had a big annoucement as this is a huge title.

Agreed it is aimed at kids, but it does have some qwerky humor element to it. Kind of reminds me of Lego Indiana Jones and his facial expressions.

E3 will be a deciding factor as to where Nintendo is concerning 3rd party devs for me.
