... it's likely Crysis 3 is actually being made with the PS4/720 in mind, not the PC.

Also, to this point specifically, that doesn't sound likely.  Sounds more like they're taking a Crysis 1 mentality over Crysis 2:

We'll see. I think Crysis 3 will run just fine on a PS4/720.

If you want to pluck down for a 4TFLOP GPU w/4GB GDDR5 RAM + a main CPU w/8-16GB of additional DDR3, for what will probably amount to a barely visible difference in graphics ... go right ahead, lol.

Crysis 2 wasn't even that big of a seller, if they want to make a game that costs $100 million dollars, they might as well start filing their bankruptcy papers while they're making the game.

The original Crysis on PC sold about 680,000 copies for example ... this just isn't enough sized of a market for 99% of developers to bother going beyond 720/PS4 which is likely to already be an extreme level of visual fidelty and raw processing power.

Yeah Wii U might not be the most powerful console of the 8th gen, total bummer, I remember when I couldn't enjoy games like The Legend Of Zelda, Super Mario Bros. 1 2 & 3, Metroid, Mike Tyson's Punch Out, Castlevania 1 2 & 3 because they weren't on the most graphically powerful system at the time, sadly that Title belonged to the Sega Master System.

Also sucks that nobody played Mario Kart Wii or Super Mario Galaxy or New Super Mario Bros. since they weren't on the most powerful console this gen. I guess those who got the Wii just like expensive coasters.

LOL!

LOL...SHIT JUST GOT REAL!!

Crysis 2 apparently has horrible physics.  I was shown a video showing off its graphical superiority.  What did I see in the video?  A turtle standing on two legs.

I agree 360 launch games looked bad.and so did some ps3 games.

I too believe they will run just fine.  I'm someone who is quite happy with WiiU's power; don't mistake what I'm saying for Microsoft and Sony somehow dropping the ball with their next consoles.  They'll be even stronger than WiiU and it would be foolish of either of them to try and match a high-end gaming PC.  All that would do is drive hardware costs through the roof and incur huge losses for them.  Most people simply won't care about the power differences and for people who want that extra power, they'll buy a PC.  Win, win.

Edit: forgot to mention all the entire Halo series, so many games collecting dust on store shelves since the ps3 is "most powerful" this gen, bummer because xbox Live could have really been something special, probably only 4-5 people on there at any one time.

Um, not sure where you've been living this generation, but all of these 3 games you mentionned sold 15m+ ( NSMBW and mario kart wii both sold in the 25 millions I believe). That's not what I exacly call "nobody".

Predictions for LT console sales:

PS4: 120M

XB1: 70M

WiiU: 14M

3DS: 60M

Vita: 13M

Benji, he was being sarcastic.

What happened to the bird and Zelda tech demos that were shown at last year´s E3?...you guys probably remember them, pretty impressive. If I remember correctly, they were supposed to be real time.

The avalanche of stories about 'slower CPU, slower RAM, on par with 360/PS3, shitty ports, etc..' has pretty much buried any remembrance of those demos...I mean, what happened, did they lie to us when they showed them?...or are we just impatient, waiting for a game that´ll match those visuals?

Those were real time.

And they were on old devkits. Seeing as Zelda always looked better as the tech demo, I think we are going to see some very impressive stuff. I haven't forgotten about them!

I just went back and watched some of those, the Japanese Garden was amazing! Keep in mind that in the garden demo, you could look around using the gamepad while the demo was in progress, so it was rendering that scene twice (once on TV, once on the gamepad) without skipping a beat. There's no way the 360 and PS3 can render those effects, especially not on two screens, they simply don't have the capability. I think in the end the WiiU will surprise some folks.
