I've thouught of an article that listed  game series' that could use the Megaman 9 treatment...and Final Fantasy is one of them.  Imagine if they made a fully fleshed out, long, well written and thought out final Fantasy game...using the engine and sprite style from Final Fantasy VI, Hell, even IV or I would be good.  focus on the gameplay and story, not the graphics!

I think the funniest argument I ever had with anyone concerning the quality of FFXII's battle system was claiming that 13's was better...becuase you have the same amount of control in that game.

Serious, some dude tried to convince me that final Fantasy XIII's battle system was just as deep and nuanced as XII's, and I laughed. I couldn't take that person seriously.

Yeah that would be awesome if they used the old school sprites, I quite liked the sprites from the ff4 psp version, they were nice and colorful. If is was to ever happen though Id think it would be a cell phone game only :/
