As for you disolitude: it's not a valid opinion when you say something that's not factual. You're certainly free to say you have no interest buy saying something like -- "playing wannabie console games on the go..." -- Provides no factual relevance.

Here is your "factual evidence" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=9GWt1Jw_JzI#t=24s

Seriously I thought it was clear that the point of PS Vita as was PSP before it was to provide console like experience on the go. Sony has been saying this at their e3's and press releases for years now.

I know that PS Vita has the casual games as well, but those don't differentiate from games on most high end smartphones.

Only thing PS Vita can do for me on the go is allow me to play fighters, SHMUPs, platformers...etc...with buttons. Smartphones can't do that. This console on the go may work for some but doesn't work for me.

You misunderstand what I was arguing. I wasn't arguing about "console expierence on the go" -- i was arguing that there is no factual way to say it's "wannabe console on the go."

Without providing some type of rubric or device that matches the said criteria. As I said previously, you're allowed to state your opinion -- but bad mouthing a device without using some type of factual evidence is seen as an attack rather than trying to state a non-bias opinion.

This really doesn't have to be technical when it comes to calling for factual evidence when posting an argument. It's pretty much common sense...

We've established PSV is trying to offer a console experience on the go, correct?

Is it as good as havng a current gen console on the go? I don't think so...

Therefore I don't have a problem calling it a wannabie console experience on the go, second rate console experience on the go or anything in between. If you want to be positive I guess you can say...almost as good as console experience on the go. Would that be less of a problem?

Actually I like...close but no cigar console experience on the go.

Well I don't have a specific budget but yeah I don't have money to blow, i have my education to pay for. It doesn't really matter, whichever has a smaller size which is always retail at least on PS3. For the big releases(Killzone and things like that) I'd prefer them on disc but I'll take digital if I have to.

As for PSP games, yes absolutely. I never owned a PSP actually so it's kind of a big deal if I get a Vita since my last handheld was a DS and I really only played Pokemon. I know a few of the PSP games I want supposedly got taken off the PSN store but I don't if that's been fixed or what.

Then you're not stating your opinion, you're trying to make an argument.

"Sorry if I hurt your feelings by stating my opinion on a console...as rediculous as that sounds. "

I hope that resolves that statement, which explains why someone was annoyed.

Rightfully so though, because even though you argue this -- it's incredibly flawed. It's a cop out to say "This really doesn't have to be technical when it comes to calling for factual evidence when posting an argument. It's pretty much common sense... "  -- Because any strong argument can be found "true" to any person who reads the statement, suggesting common sense is not valid as well -- because each persons common sense is based on their own upbringing.

So let me argue the opposite, I would argue it is as good -- Why?

1) Apps -- Both the PS 3 / 360 have access to  several quality media apps, this allows for it to be a media device as well.
1A) The Ps Vita also has access -- Hulu plus, Netflix, Qonline, picture and movie viewer

Hence, if the Ps Vita has access to the wealth of media apps -- it therefore can be considered "Console media on the Go."

2) Games -- 360 and Ps3 have a wealth of games, over their span of 6 years. Each having their own exclusives.
2B) The Ps Vita since it's launch already has "console"  games. See the ports of Marvel vs. Capcom, See Metal Gear Solid HD, Street Fighter x Tekken, Mortal Kombat, PS All stars.  It also has it's own exclusives based on console franchises: Uncharted, Wipeout, Assassins Creed.

Hence, if the Ps Vita has access to similar console games and Exclusives, it can be considered " Console Gaming on the Go"

3) Technical: The PS3/ 360 both have powerful arichtecture based on the GT7900, and quad core processors. Which allow for it to do a wealth in games and allow for user input and cross media play.

3B) The PS Vita has access to a quad core chip, and a GPU that is comparable if not more powerful than the Wii.It also has access to cross media play and has an output resolution comparable to console resolution (As most games still do not fully utilise 1080P or 720P)

Hence, if the Ps Vita is capable of similar performance levels, it can be considered " Console Quality on the Go"

Case rested.

Alright, you definitely want a 8GB or 16GB. They run at $30 and $50 respectively.

You might say "Wow that's still fairly expensive." It may seem that way, but I don't think it is. Remember a majority of PSP games are under $20 on PSN. If you were to do the comparison to the DS, you still have some of the best games marked at $30+. In the end you save money, because the PSP games are decently small sized and you're not paying the comparable price -- which makes the memory cards price, worth it.

If there was any doubt that your entire argument is just a lot of fluff, the bolded line really makes it clear that the PSV is a wannabe. If you need to use the Wii to make the PSV look good, then it's pretty obvious that something is seriously wrong.

The Wii isn't a console?

It isn't one that is up to accepted standards.

That's a fallacy, the definition of console is : "

Noun:
A panel or unit accommodating controls for electronic or mechanical equipment.

"

The Wii meets those standards. Just because people are not appreciative that it did't do the HD graphics, does not make it inferior.

but this doesn't negate my argument, simply because one line of my argument was highlighted and said "if you have to use ..." because the wii is a "console" and the argument was "console quality on the go."

I could take it a step forward and argue that the Ps Vita, is comparable to what the Xbox 360 can produce because SGX543MP4+ quad core GPU is capable of DX 9 performance and OpenGL 2.1. Does that now make my argument better because it meets your standards of what "a console is" vs what a console actually is.

Oh, and can I do the same thing? Can I say the 3DS isn't really a handheld console because every phone and portable device beats it interms of performance?

Such a silly argument, seriously.

Bet with gooch_destroyer, he wins if FFX and FFX-2 will be at $40 each for the vita. I win if it dont

But they are ridiculously overpriced. It's my biggest issue with buying a vita. They cost nothing to make and somehow they are this expensive. I bought my PS3 hard drive with 250gb for like $70 back a few years ago.

Anyways this site have been advertising a really good ACL:3 bundle for $199
