Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony is really enticing me to buy a Vita

I'd say wait for a price drop. a lot of those games that you mentioned have been well below expectations. If I were you I'd wait for a price drop or more quality games.

Only thing that could entice me to buy a Vita is if they figure out homebrew and emulation support for consoles NES to N64 (maybe even Dreamcast).

As is, I wouldn't use it even if someone gave it to me for free. I absolutely have no interest in playing wannabie console games on the go...

So old console games are fine O.o?

Correct, old console games start within 15 seconds and tend to be fun right away. On something like Mortal Kombat 2, you push start, play a few rounds for 5 mins and quick save and continue with your commute.

I can't even get through to the tutorial in PSV Uncharted in 5 minutes thanks to loading, cinematics and dev company logos.

Old games had the same dev company logos.  But most of those problems are problems with all games.  But yeah the tutorial in Golden Abyss is too long.  Stupid dumbing down of games.

Where is the free PSN+ stuff on the Vita? I can't find anything on the Store. (I'm european)

Edit: Oh, nevermind, now it's there :)

Game of the year 2017 so far:

5. Resident Evil VII
4. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
3. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy
2. Horizon Zero Dawn
1. Super Mario Odyssey

As for you disolitude: it's not a valid opinion when you say something that's not factual. You're certainly free to say you have no interest buy saying something like -- "playing wannabie console games on the go..." -- Provides no factual relevance.

Here is your "factual evidence" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=9GWt1Jw_JzI#t=24s

Seriously I thought it was clear that the point of PS Vita as was PSP before it was to provide console like experience on the go. Sony has been saying this at their e3's and press releases for years now.

I know that PS Vita has the casual games as well, but those don't differentiate from games on most high end smartphones.

Only thing PS Vita can do for me on the go is allow me to play fighters, SHMUPs, platformers...etc...with buttons. Smartphones can't do that. This console on the go may work for some but doesn't work for me.

Vita games are far superior to those NES & N64 games. And even more superior over 3DS games.

If you say so...

I spent a few days with the Vita and I prefer doing a Zelda Link to the Past speed run for the 10th time over anything I played on the Vita. (Uncharted, Wipeout, Ridge Racer).

Few games out now look interesting though...Ultimate MvsC3 for example.

Vita is 199$ with ac liberations on black friday.
Im sure it will also be 199$ through the holiday season.
Price drop will probably be the same thing next years just get one now with a free game!

You misunderstand what I was arguing. I wasn't arguing about "console expierence on the go" -- i was arguing that there is no factual way to say it's "wannabe console on the go."

Without providing some type of rubric or device that matches the said criteria. As I said previously, you're allowed to state your opinion -- but bad mouthing a device without using some type of factual evidence is seen as an attack rather than trying to state a non-bias opinion.

Dammit. Some of you should really work for Sony. I'm close to buying one. how much do memory cards cost? Like I said this is my biggest issue, not enough memory. I mean I'm always going to primarily use my PS3 so I don't plan on really playing cross platform games besides the ones that are free with cross platform purchase so I only plan on getting a select few games, will I be good with a few Gb's only?

Well let me ask you a few questions. What is your budget, and will you be buying Ps Vita games through PSN rather than retail? Also, are you interested in getting PSP titles as well?
