Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Let's predict what/when Wii U games will come out!

The Wii U may be out, but Nintendo is being quiet about what games we can expect for it. What crazy people! So, based on what we know, let's try to figure when Nintendo is going to release games and what games these will be!

Winter 2013 - The Wonderful 101, Lego City: Undercover, Wii Fit U, Game & Wario

Spring 2013 - Pikmin 3 - This game's been semiconfirmed to be leaking out of the launch window.

Summer 2013 - Bayonetta 2, Yoshi Land - Considering how the original Bayonetta came out in 2010, I'm expecting the sequel fairly soon. And Good-Feel is due for a 2D platformer

Fall 2013 - Retro Studios's game, Monolith Soft's game - Retro typically takes three years to release a game, and Monolith Soft is, if anything, already behind schedule

Winter 2014 - Super Mario Universe, Mario Party 10 - I suspect that the creation of 3D Land for the 3DS will ultimately delay the first 3D Mario platformer for the Wii U

Summer 2014 - Pokemon Stadiumesque game for generation 6

Fall 2014 - Super Smash Bros 4, The Legend of Zelda - Considering how Brawl took a bit under 2 1/2 years to make, and Kid Icarus: Uprising was finished last March, this seems like a reasonable deadline. Also, three years is a reasonable amount of time for a Zelda game.

2015 - Animal Crossing

Any guesses of your own?

Love and tolerate.

Smash will be coming out sooner than that. Its been in development for awhile now with a developer that has master experience in the genre.

Yeah I expect Smash Brother in holiday of next year.

Fire Emblem U comes to Japan fall 2013, period in which I'll have no choice but to import a WiiU. It should hit the West by 2065 when Nintendo finally finishes localizing it.

Around the Network

Mario Kart U-turn (fall 2013)
Wii Sports 3/U (late 2013/early 2014)
3D Mario (summer 2014
Zelda (late 2014 or 2015

Mario Kart 8 spring 2014

Bayonetta fall 2014

New Mario fall 2014

New smash brosh spring 2015

I think Fall/Winter 2013 is going to be huge for Nintendo. They will want to keep up momentum, and keep the pressure on Microsoft and Sony, at least one of which will probably launch in late 2013.

So I'll say:

Q1 2013:
Rayman Legends
Lego City Undercover
The Wonderful 101
Game & Wario
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate

Q2 2013:
Pikmin 3
Wii Fit U

Q3 2013:
Monolith Soft IP
Retro's game

Q4 2013:
Super Mario Universe
Wii Sports 3

Q1 2014:
Super Smash Bros.

Q2 2014:
Mario Party 10
Pokemon

Q3 2014:
Harvest Moon

Q4 2014:
Animal Crossing
Mario Kart Wii U

TBA 2015:
The Legend of Zelda

rather than using summer spring winter fall etc..

can we use a universal language that COVERS the world

ie Q1 Q2 Q3 Q4 or actual month and year.

EDIT:  looks like someone above me already caught on whilst i was typing this.

I don't know if I can predict games' launch periods, but I can predict when they will get announced...

Announcements at E3 2013: *pivotal for Nintendo to get both Wii U and 3DS sales**
- possibly a handheld Zelda for 3DS
- Whatever Retro IP has been in the works
- Monolith soft Wii U IP
- Bayonetta 2 Release Date (I predict it'll very shortly after E3)
- Either Mario Kart U or Super Mario U (or maybe both?!)
- Teaser for Zelda U or SSBU ? ;) (Akin to brawl in 2006) with a release in late 2014

Announcements at E3 2014:
- console Zelda U
- SSBU and 3DS
- (Optimistically...) new IP from shiggy? He says he's been working on something??

---

The reason why I don't hesitate to put a lot of big first party things in the E3 2013 is because Nintendo did not announce big 1st party games for Wii or Wii U during either E3 2011 or E3 2012. I'm guessing that this is because they have been working on games during that time.
