So lets say by the end of march wii sales have passed 2.2 million and mario party 7, re4 and star fox have all crossed the million mark. Sales started to slow down as most of the releases in the first half of 2006 were ports and licensed games. During this time ps2 continued to outsell the wii but this all changed with the release of wii sports in june. The game was an instant hit and quickly became the best selling wii game and boosted hardware sales significantly. Some high profile 3rd party games started coming out in aug/sept. These games were red steel and dead rising, the latter getting an hd upgrade for the launch of ps3/360. The next major title was legend of zelda twilight princess which released the same day as xbox 360 and a week before ps3. Zelda sold over 1 million copies in the holiday season. Xbox 360release late nov and had big launch titles as call of duty 3 and forza motorsport 2, but the biggest title was easily gears of war. The following week ps3 released with a ridiculous price of $600.

Pretty much all of ps3 launch games could be found on 360 with the exception of resistance. This was there biggest launch title but it wasnt regarded as highly as gears. This plus the high price caused 360 to outsell it during the holidays.

Hmm... the Wii lineup still looks a bit bare for 2006 in this scenario. Let's see... the big PS2 games of 2006 in our timeline included various sports games, Final Fantasy 12, Kingdom Hearts 2, Hitman 4, Lego Star Wars 2, Need for Speed Carbon, and Splinter Cell: Double Agent. Do you think any of these games would be released on our early Wii?

Ya i could see alot of those games being released with the exception of ff12 and kh2, i didnt include those type of games since i assume the ps2/xb versions selling significantly more
