Forums - Gaming Discussion - Wii has a fantastic 3rd party game library

the fact that the op is even comparing the library to LAST gen systems is very telling.

The Wii can have a good 3rd party library if you know where to look.

That being said, I would'nt use the word ''fantastic'' when it CLEARLY has the weakest lineup of all the 3 consoles.

What?! I can't hear you over all this awsome! - Pyrrhon (Kid Icarus:Uprising)

Final Ultimate Legendary Earth Power Super Max Justice Future Miracle Dream Beautiful Galaxy Big Bang Little Bang Sunrise Starlight Infinite Fabulous Totally Final Wonderful Arrow...FIRE! - Wonder-Red (The Wonderful101)

Sid Meiers Pirates?! SERIOUSLY?! The fact that they actually charged money for this shovelware port of a game that could be had cheaper on other consoles was insulting. I had the misfortune of having to play this turd for a review. When I was playing it my brother thought it was a PS1 game. The core of pirates is still decent, but the game featured incredibly shoddy wiimote controls, flat out ugly graphics, and the game was ridiculously overprices. This was a poorly optimized port of a 6 year old game, and the fact that it was $40 was an insult.

I love my Wii, but it's third party support sucked, and the fact that you're resorting to games like this just shows how crappy it was.

Unless you were being sarcastic. In that case, well done.

Guys, lay off the OP.

Fantastic is a bad word choice, but the fact remains that there were many excellent third-party exclusives for the Wii. Enough to justify its purchase, enough to justify its continued use.

When your list starts with Alice in Wonderland you know it's not good.

Compared to what?? Kinect and Move?

Hmm, I think the problem is that this list does not contain some of these Games (Although I do not like them all):

Final Fantasy XIII
Final Fantasy XIII-2
Resident Evil 5
Resident Evil 6
Devil May Cry 4
Metal Gear Solid 4
Assassin's Creed
GTA 4
Red Dead Redemption
Dead Space
Mass Effect
Elder Scrolls
Dragon Age
Batman
Bioshock
Borderlands
Demon's Souls

Honestly, the Wii's 3rd Party is very weak compared to the PS3 and the X360. It is partly a fault of Nintendo, since most of the Games just couldn't be ported to the Wii due to technical limitation and due to Nintendos Control scheme. And since the Wii could not transform the install base into proper sales figures for most developpers the Wii never saw a good support. Some Games even got a version for PS3/360 and one for Wii/PS2/PSP Version... Somehow the Wii felt like its own Generation and it is very telling that games like Just Dance or Carnival games, etc are among the Games with the highest Sales on the Wii.

I really wonder how the Wii U will do. Will the Wii Crowd upgrade to the Wii U or will they have lost interest in gaming... This will be a very interesting christmas season.

The Wii's library is better for lacking these ones. ;)
