Saw a recent article that Bungie was hiring devs with PS3 experience. Looks like they decided to make a PS3 version after all...

If anything can end up being the "Halo-killer", it would be Bungies new IP. If it's on Sony's console too, even better.

i really dont understand why would they make it xbox exclusive, literally half the market is on PS3 and they could double their sales with just releasing the game on PS3. they would be complete morons if they didnt make the game on ps3

They aren't. Nobody is saying it will be. Its timed exclusive, which is arguably just as good an effect. Think of the sales disparity between Oblivion, Orange Box, Bioshock 1, and Mass Effect 2.

The gamers will associate the IP with Xbox, even if it comes to PS3 later. Pure genius.

Can't wait to see what the final product looks like.

But I'm confused. Why is it so important that people associate the game with Xbox? And why is it genius?

What the post above me said. Getting the sales scraps when hype dies down and the holidays are over means the majority of gamers will play this game on Xbox, including the sequels.

For a multiplat, MS just ensured 70% (approx) of its sales are gonna be on their consoles.

But I think what bananaking was saying (and please correct me if I'm wrong, bk) is that Bungie would be better off it they launched the game at the same time on both systems.

And I think you're saying the timed exclusive would be much better for Microsoft. So my question is: why is it so important that Microsoft gets the lion's share of sales?

exactly what Veknoid_Outcast said. i mean yes it would be better for microsoft, but for both Activision and Bungie it wouldnt

To quote Charlie Sheen: WINNING!

Bungee has years of experience working on the Xbox 1/360, so of course they can release a game on the 360 with no problems. As for the ps3 they are basically starting from scratch which is why it will take more time for that platform. I'm sure Activision wants them to put out their game as quickly as possible, so releasing on the 360 first makes sense.

Plus like another poster mentioned they had to see I fit would even be financially viable to release it on the ps3 before they actually started looking for people with ps3 experience.

starcraft: "I and every PS3 fanboy alive are waiting for Versus more than FFXIII.
Me since the games were revealed, the fanboys since E3."

Skeeuk: "playstation 3 is the ultimate in gaming acceleration"

Do westerners think in like a creativity bubble or something?

Microsoft still owns a piece of Bungie I believe, but either way it'll still be multiplatform which means it will still sell even on the Playstation 3 or 4 which will still create profits for them.  What this does though is for the multi console owners like myself will most likely buy it on xbox and then keep buying it on xbox because of this.  I hate having 1 game in the series on one console and then buying another in the series on a different console lol

What do you mean?  Bungie is one of the most respected developers today.  Even helped Nuaghty Dog with Uncharted.  If you dont like Bungie then that is ok, but they did revolutionize FPS games to what they are today on consoles

I said western developers lacking creativity. I never said anything about lacking talent. Western developers have owned this whole gen when it comes to talent.

Even revolutionary ideas come from inspiration found in allready established ideas from someone else.

Too hit or miss. Leave it to the Japanese to get the new ideas out and the Western guys will perfect it. Tis the way of the industry.
