Hey folks! I figured that it was about time for a second Nuzlocke Pokemon run! You may drop in from time to time to see the Pokemon Yellow run going on here on VGChartz. It seems like it would be a ton of fun. I talked it over with Salnax, and he said it would be cool to see more of these.

Rules, as they are from Salnax's thread;

1. Only the first Pokemon in an area can be captured.

2. All Pokemon captured received a Nickname.

3. Fainting = Permadeath, ala Fire Emblem

I'm going to be taking pics from my game with a cam or iphone, I don't have roms.

This will be for SoulSilver, and I want to start off my quest with a question for you all: Who should I choose? I'll wait until later tonight to count votes, about 9:30EST. Thanks!!

Either Cyndaquill or Totodille. Chikorita lacks powerful moves like Flamethrower and Surf and has bad typing, especially in an early game filled with Flying and Bug types. Ultimately, Cyndaquill's typing makes it very valuable, but it is overspeciaized to perform various fire attacks, to the point where you may wish for more variety. Totodile, on the other hand, can learn all the watery HMs, which is handy in these "limited mon" runs, but is not particularly good at Surfing due to its low Special.

So basically, get Chikorita if you want a challenge, get Cyndaquill if you want powerful attacks, and get Totodile if you want versatility.

Love and tolerate.

By the way, I've done a Nuzlocke Run for HeartGold in the past. If you need any tips or advice, let me know!

^I will! I hope it goes well with no early deaths.

Good luck!

Honestly, Chikorita might be the weakest starter in any of the Pokemon games, so it's really a choice of two. I'm biased towards water pokemon, so I'll say Totodile - but Cindiquill could be useful to extra type coverage (lots of chances to catch water pokemon later)

Salnax explained it all in his post. Feraligatr got a lot better in gen IV with Physical Waterfall and improved versatility (Crunch, Ice Fang). Typhlosion is faster but he will need more help from teammates.

So far I see the water Gator is winning, and the odd little grass dino is losing hard core... lol

Alright! So i start the adventure. Lots of blabing... Pokemon can be your friend...

I am asked to help out Prof. Elm. He will give me a Pokemon! I get Totodile! His name is Salnax.

I walked route 29, killing Hoothoots! leveling up.

Talked to a wonderful man, Guide Gent. He hooked me up with running shoes!! Thank you God!

Hit Route 30, found Mr. Pokemon... got egg... still yawning. Fought my Rival, whom I named Chump.

FInally gave Elm the egg and got pokeballs from the Girl... I Forget her name... oh well.

I had been to route 29, so I can't get a pokemon from there, so I hit route 46. First fight... Rattata. I enslave it. Named it Radishhead.

So, at this point my team is Level 8 Salnax, Hasty, Male. Level 4 Rattata, Impish, Female. My pictures are big, having touble with them. I'mm try to post them soon!!
