How (un)successful do you want your unfavorable company to be?

I want them obliterated! 36 33.03%

Not obliterated; just les... 41 37.61%

Just not extrememly more ... 15 13.76%

I don't care how successful they are. 17 15.60%

Total:109

for me, Sony has lost the point, their new IPs everyone seem to love are NOTHING compared to the awesomness of 3rd party games the PS brand has lost since the PSX era, i dont feel interested at all about Sony anymore, PSP is the last Sony product i own im afraid....
on the other hand, i dont even feel MS is part of this industry, for me MS DOES NOT EXIST
it was Sega and Nintendo and Sony and Nintendo, always

Having said that, i just want Nintendo to succeed and get the 3rd party support, since we already have the best 1rst party we could ever had, i dont care for the competition

Around the Network

I'm a big Nintendo fan and personally I can talk to a xbox fan we we would have no problem talking about games.
Sony fans are the worst I'm sorry.

How many times do they go to bother wii fans saying you have inferior games because your games are made for kids.
I seen ONE xbox fan do this but hundreds of sony fans.

90% of a troll thread talking about other companies failing or just hate like all the Wii-U is going to fail and misinformation comes from Sony fans.

Xbox fans are pretty cool and Nintendo fans are pretty relax. There are times when Nintendo lash out if you talk to them it's usually because of all the abuse from Sony fans. If you were to interview a xbox fan on which company they don't like they would mostly say Sony because of it's fans same for Nintendo.

Plus all we hear from Sony fans are usually about the past and how there still winning (yes people say this because some don't consider wii current gen) and think Xbox is just a port machine.

i want to see any company that enters the gaming market suceed. the gaming industry has been shrinking as of late and i dont want to see something i love collapse. i am a sony fanboy, which i have stated many times but i wouldnt like to see nintendo or microsoft fail. microsoft have given sony a major wake up call this gen, which was a good thing because the ps3 is flourishing now and the playstation network has been improved dramtically, mainly because of the competition from microsoft.

Any true gamer wouldnt like to see nintendo fail. theyve given so much to the industry and given so many iconic ip's which are famous worldwide. Any hatred i have is just spurred on my fanboys and trolls. general MLD (sales2099) is one of those people that sometimes makes me want to see microsoft fail.

1. You can be a success in your own right, but still loose in sales. The sports analogy holds merit in that sales determines victory, regardless of individual corporate measures of the term "success".

2. But where the anaology is most accurate is the sheer loyalty. Sports fans are loyal to a city and people on the team that have little to not relation to the actual fan.....except that the person lives in that town. Its just buildings and dirt and imaginery borders, yet this team somehow represents this fan. When the team wins, the city wins, and by extension, the fan wins.

3. Gaming fans identify with the corporation and console they make because they identify with what the console offers. When the console gets an exclusive, timed DLC, whatever that gives it a competritive edge, its a victory for the fan. When the console sells more then the biggest competitor, its a win because thei opinion that their console is the best is validated in the sales numbers.

You seem to ignore that comparison....how both groups are extremely loyal and identify with the image of the team/console.

1. You're right that sales & profits determine success. But, sales & profits in relation to the competition is less important. What really matters is absolute sales & profits. You think Microsoft would feel sad if the PS3 was extremely more profitable. No. Sure, they may see the PS3 as being huge and would try to expand to their levels. But they would still be incredibly successful and profitable. Winning and Losing is arbitrary. What matters is how much money you make. On that note, the Xbox's success really is not improved by the PS3 failing.

2. You'd be surprised at how 'loyal' people are. Look at last generation and look at this generation. Do you see the extreme shift in 'loyalty'? As you can see, people don't care about companies. They care about gaming first and foremost. And whoever seems to provide the best games, they will flock to that company, even if that means 'leaving' a certain company. You are in the minority here; most people don't care about sticking to something as meaningless as a certain company. They will go to what they believe has the best games.

3. As for identifying, sure, people tend to identify with their console. And they want to see it successful, but this all goes back to what 'success' really is: Absolute sales and profits. A company is successful if it's making enough money to continue providing great experiences and can expand to create more of those experiences. Essentially, in terms of success, from a fan's perspective, all that matters is if pleasing that fan is financially viable. If that's the case, then the fan will feel like he's a winner. Just because some other company is way more successful, wouldn't make that fan feel like a loser.

Your first point is about how corporations view eachother when my point is how a gamer fan would see those numbers and determine a personal victory. This isnt about a corporations definitions of success but how a fan would define it.

Hey you cant exactly pack up and leave your current city to move somewhere else because they are more likely to win. Its far easier to switch loyalties in gaming then in sports. If it was easy to move cities for the average person, then the analogy would fit better but alas it isnt feasible. But I stand by my loyalty comment. Most gamers are how you describe them: fickle and go where the games go. But the fans are the minority, real fans that are invested in the 1st party franchises that are only home to that certain corporation.

Third point again is about corporate measures when I am talking about how a fan would define victory. Two opposite criteria.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Yes of course I revel in other people's displeasure, I am a rampant Sony fantard and as everyone has said in this thread we are the absolute worst of the worst.

You are not, others have been.

No dear friend, I cannot deny my creation!

Did I request thee, Sony, from my clay

To mould me Fan, did I solicit thee

From darkness to promote me?

Make love people and try to be bit more wise each day than just down right cunning. These are just entertaining devices and they provide a great escapism. Nothing more and nothing less. Enjoy.

Interresstttinnngg. I am getting all ghouly already! I have gone off on a long Google journey to discover the meaning of this poem, and lo and behold you have brought me to the lands of Christian Mythology and English litterature. Thou likeneth thyself to the Monster, or to Adam?

1 - Quote B is the same thing as quote A......in the minds of a typical gamer anyway. I want them to be more humbled. But seeing your post you clearly have no idea how far they take this superiority complex. Then again Im sure you dont travel to parts where moderation doesnt exist so you dont really see any "raw" comments.

2. Exactly! They act the same, but in far greater numbers. 2nd problem is that they act the same......yet are last. Wii fans have every right to brag. 360 fans are the Core/HD winner this gen, so both camps deserve the right to brag. But again with the numbers, Wii/360 fan numbers are at a all time low.

3. Humbled. Not misreable. Praise your games, but dont say they will all be AAA and are the best games that nintendo and MS could never replicate. For example...

4. 1 in 5 fans are smug sure. Now heres my point: What if your typical forum has 5 360 fans and 50 PS3 fans? You have 10 PS3 fans for every 1 360 fan. Thats my point.....numbers. If you deny that PS3 fans have greater numbers on a typical forum then again I say your too sheltered for these kinds of threads.

1. How are they the same? One is a false statement which can be disproved by facts. The other is purely an opinoin.

But yes, I do see smug fans in other forums, but I am sure to not base my actions on THIS site based on people from OTHER sites. It makes no sense to treat VGChartz Sony fans like YouTube Sony fans.

2. You haven't told me how Sony fans 'brag'. How so?

3. Why can't we say they are AAA. Most of the times, they are AAA (meaning high production cost). As for the bragging about games that other companies cannot produce, that attitude usually mirrors how well that particular company is doing. For example, last year, Sony fans were bragging because there were lots of AAA games released. This year, you see very little bragging because they're not many AAA games being released. Using your logic that people can brag when they have a reason to, then people should have the right to brag when their companies does release a lot of games.

4. I'm not sure about that. I really only frequent this site. And on this, Nintendo fans and Sony fans are pretty much neck & neck, sometimes varying depending on which company has been releasing the most news. Whatever you see on other sites, it makes no sense to base your mentality here on fanboys from some other site.

I am not lying when I say I wish Nintendo would make third party games for Sony and MS because the HD motherfuckers make hardware that is more relevant for me in terms of power. On a second thought, my itchy must buy new things finger wants to buy a Wiii U and ridicule the hell out of it so I am an informed hater.

Damn PS3 is almost at it's end and I am like a zombie to brains, only I consume technology.
