@Teddos;

I'm glad I didn't ruin it for you. The S4 finale was epic!

Also, I think Maul will be around for a while. At least for the majority of S5. They're definitely trying to establish a third side in the war, with Maul and the Mandalorians, and I think that story arc will at least last one season. Season 6 looks like it's confirmed, so it could last even longer!

I do hope they keep Maul and his brother around for a bit, he's potentially a huge character that like you said, could make a third side in the war (at least for a while).

And how awesome would that be? Battlefront 3, with the Clone wars and certain scenarios with 3 sides! :OOO

Well, Battlefront 1 actually sorta had a third faction on a few maps (like the Dune Sea), but you couldn't actually play as them. At this point, I'm just hoping that Battlefront 3 comes out. I've been waiting for years!

OP updated. There's a new sneak peak at Season 5, here. Warning: MAJOR spoilers for S1-4.

OP updated! Season 5 has begun, and what a start it was. When they said this was going to be brutal, they weren't kidding. And Hondo is still awesome.

(I'll probably bump this thread less often, but keep a link in my sig. I don't want to just talk to myself in here. )

OP updated! I've been keeping the first two posts updated as Season 5 goes on. (And I didn't want to bump the thread every single time...)

For those of you who tried watching a few episodes and thought they were boring, I bet you watched one of the two 4 part story arcs that were rather underwhelming. But that's all behind us. It's really picking up now; this next episode tomorrow is going to be fantastic! I think it's gonna be a crazy ride from here 'till the end of S5.

Even if your a small star wars fan, I promise tomorrows episode will be amazing! :D

Watch and talk about it please! :)

I personally can't wait :P I've been waiting a hole season for this story arc (and this episode), but considering what has to happen, there's no way it can disappoint! :D

It actually did! :'(

Well the episode started out well, I didn't expect to see Satine's nephew in the show, but that was probably the problem of the episode, it was the only thing that surprised me :( The Obi-wan rescue scene was good, but I've seen it in trailers all before :( And Satine's sister reveal was a surprise too, but didn't really do much to the plot :S

We've talked about it before, but Satine's death wasn't surprising I admit :/ (but still sad).

Savage's death was half expected, but the way Sidious beat them both convincingly was something else. I enjoyed Savage too and I feel Maul won't be the same now that his brother's gone :(

For the series though, this makes sense, Sidious wants to control all sides to help further his goal of the Republic becoming the Galatic Empire, if Maul's pirates do Sidious's bidding and show the Republic needs a larger army and the police becoming more soldier like, it makes sense.

Overall I enjoyed the episode, I still feel they'll be a three sided war between the Republic, Separatists and Shadow Collective (maul), but I think Maul needs someone else to help take Savage's place in the series (but a stronger more developed character too), Ventress is ideal, but she teamed up with Obi-wan last season against Maul, so that isn't happening, I'm not sure who else there is though. (cad Bane or Hondo?)

I've learned to avoid any and all spoilers possible before watching an episode so that I don't have that problem. Spoilers really do spoil things for you.

I'm kinda pleased by Bo-Katan being Satine's sister. I really don't know why. Maybe because Satine was such a strong pacifist, and here we have her sister as part of a radical group seeking to reestablish the old Mandalorian ways. And Bo-Katan herself isn't a bad character.

I was more upset for Obi Wan when Satine died, rather than sad that she did die. I almost knew it had to happen this episode, with Obi Wan coming to save her from Maul, and of course Maul would want revenge. Poor guy couldn't even get angry or anything about it. He just looked defeated.

Savage's death would have been more surprising if it came sooner. He's basically been relegated to a sidekick in season 5; sorta like he's become an expendable character... which has been disappointing. He's been in character, but I guess it's just not as fun when he's not driven by some goal, like finding his brother. I was rather surprised (pleasantly so) that Maul appeared to be at least a bit emotional over the death of his brother. I don't know if that shows he actually cared for him, or he was just really pissed at Sidious, but it was a really nice touch.

How will the Mandalorians play into that though? If they knew Maul had been beaten, they wouldn't follow him and would instead follow Sidious. But the fight didn't happen in front of them. Will they even find out?

Hondo's only out for himself, no way he'd ever join Maul (especially not after Maul trashing his camp in the season opener). Cad Bane would only join for the right price. Ventress would probably never submit herself to be Maul's apprentice, and I don't think Maul would ever be willing to be an apprentice again. It would create an interesting dynamic, but I don't even know that they could ever do anything; they'd always be at each other's throats.

I'm not sure that it will be a true three sided war. Sidious acted pretty swiftly to ensure that he remained in control of the galactic conflict. He'll no doubt be aware that Maul will be trying to kill him, but he will be confident (and rightly so) that he can handle Maul should Maul become too troublesome. I think by this point, the best you could hope for is two sides, with a third underground faction just screwing things up for everyone.

Also, up next looks like Ahsoka and Ventress! ALL MY EXCITEMENT!

Yeah Savage really did lose prominance in this season, I suppose in some ways it was to prepare you for his death, maybe the series creaters weren't sure he was a deep enough character :/ But I will still miss Savage :(

I think they nailed Obi-wans emotions perfectly with Satine's death, you can really relate to Obi-wan at that point :)

I'm guessing the Mandalorians won't find out, they seemed to be busy chasing Obi-wan mostly.

Yeah my dream of a third Maul side is collapsing as quickly as it rose :( I guess with Maul still around though, its not all lost :)

Will Ahsoka finally die now? :O
