I've learned to avoid any and all spoilers possible before watching an episode so that I don't have that problem. Spoilers really do spoil things for you. I'm kinda pleased by Bo-Katan being Satine's sister. I really don't know why. Maybe because Satine was such a strong pacifist, and here we have her sister as part of a radical group seeking to reestablish the old Mandalorian ways. And Bo-Katan herself isn't a bad character. I was more upset for Obi Wan when Satine died, rather than sad that she did die. I almost knew it had to happen this episode, with Obi Wan coming to save her from Maul, and of course Maul would want revenge. Poor guy couldn't even get angry or anything about it. He just looked defeated. Savage's death would have been more surprising if it came sooner. He's basically been relegated to a sidekick in season 5; sorta like he's become an expendable character... which has been disappointing. He's been in character, but I guess it's just not as fun when he's not driven by some goal, like finding his brother. I was rather surprised (pleasantly so) that Maul appeared to be at least a bit emotional over the death of his brother. I don't know if that shows he actually cared for him, or he was just really pissed at Sidious, but it was a really nice touch. How will the Mandalorians play into that though? If they knew Maul had been beaten, they wouldn't follow him and would instead follow Sidious. But the fight didn't happen in front of them. Will they even find out? Hondo's only out for himself, no way he'd ever join Maul (especially not after Maul trashing his camp in the season opener). Cad Bane would only join for the right price. Ventress would probably never submit herself to be Maul's apprentice, and I don't think Maul would ever be willing to be an apprentice again. It would create an interesting dynamic, but I don't even know that they could ever do anything; they'd always be at each other's throats. I'm not sure that it will be a true three sided war. Sidious acted pretty swiftly to ensure that he remained in control of the galactic conflict. He'll no doubt be aware that Maul will be trying to kill him, but he will be confident (and rightly so) that he can handle Maul should Maul become too troublesome. I think by this point, the best you could hope for is two sides, with a third underground faction just screwing things up for everyone. Also, up next looks like Ahsoka and Ventress! Yeah Savage really did lose prominance in this season, I suppose in some ways it was to prepare you for his death, maybe the series creaters weren't sure he was a deep enough character :/ But I will still miss Savage :(
I think they nailed Obi-wans emotions perfectly with Satine's death, you can really relate to Obi-wan at that point :)
I'm guessing the Mandalorians won't find out, they seemed to be busy chasing Obi-wan mostly.
Yeah my dream of a third Maul side is collapsing as quickly as it rose :( I guess with Maul still around though, its not all lost :)
Will Ahsoka finally die now? :O
