Oh there are groups of fans for both fanbases, but I see a lot more pro sony stuff than Nintendo.

In hindsight I think my views are skewed slightly towards favouring powerful hardware as likely to be successful.

Obviously most of the people who made predictions in 2012 about the state of the 8th gen have generally been wrong - by a large margin in most cases. However, that is no reason to dump on them and make fun of their predictions. They tried to make guesses when they didnt have the info about specs and prices - no need to laugh at them now that they are wrong.

What exactly was the point of raising this old thread?

Seeing this thread makes the flop much more appearent. Really, how could Nintendo screw up this badly?

So it's their own fault then. If they had waited a little longer they could have made better more informed predictions.

Wow, I didn't read the OP date at first and this thread seemed epic!
So I'll do the best thing to do, I'll pretend I didn't realise it was so old and play accordingly.

OP is blatantly wrong, PS4 and XBOne are quintessential extracts of phail, Wii U will outsell them COMBINED by AT LEAST 50M.
You read it here first, prove me wrong if you can, and I can't believe OP could undershoot so badly a prediction so easy!!!
