Also polls show that educated white men vote overwhelmingly Democratic.

Nope.

Coincidentally, in the often cited IQ tests where Liberals score higher then conservatives, the one rarely mentioned fact is that Libretarians score higher then both.  Libretarinism running highest among the "Super intellegent" 125+types.

With the one place they go off the "Libretarian" path is Green polices, being very pro government trying to promote saving the enviroment.

Again a Libretarian Green convergence.

What i find most ironic is that banking cronyism is blamed on the Republicans, even though in 2008 it was the Republicans who ALMOST let the Bankers hang out to dry and all go bankrupt.

Tarp took two votes, because the first time 2/3rds of republicans refused to vote for it.  Citing not wanting to bail out those who put us there in the first place.  Taking a Bush/Obama/McCain alliance to cajole enough of them to switch their votes.

Let alone, the biggest bank scandal senators were... well Dodd and Frank... who happened to write, well the Dodd Frank laws...

and the most egrigous person to escape prosecution has been Jon Corzine.

Hm, the biggest change is from 1994 to 2000.   Really, if it wasn't for that time period and 2003, that chart wouldn't look bad at all.  It shoots up a bit under Reagan as he fixes the economy, the falls down and meanders up and down a lot until 1994-2000.

What horrible rich loving, poor hating Republican was in office at that time?

Oh... right.

So all that's left is 2003.  Which was the money made off the GFC Bubble.   Which was mostly all lost after the GFC burst....  (Which by the way is the funny part.  If you'll notice, your chart stops at 2006 for the rich, 2009 for everyone else... because it wouldn't look good if they showed how much money the rich lost between 2006-2009.)

so yeah... the big Republican who the 1% apparently love and caused this problem is Bill Clinton.

Who coincidentally supports the Obama economic plan... saying it's just like when he was in office.

I mean...

Clinton - +130% Change or so?

So that leaves about 110% For Bush+Bush+Reagan.

Or to put it another way

Democrat Increase in wealth disparity per term - 60%.

Republican increase in wealth dispairty per term - 22%

So I have to ask...which Party's presidents have helped the rich get disproportionatly richer more?   The answer is... Democratic Presidents.  Both per term and just by rank number on the stats you provided.  Which is amazing considering there was only 1... and it doesn't count the 2 years in drop under Bush. 06-08.

Ever heard the term "Killing the goose that lays the golden egg"?

Unions generally increase wages of the employees by creating an adversarial working environment and then resist changes that will increase productivity and quality improvements which would justify the increased wages. Eventually, companies find that they can offshore these jobs resulting in dramatically lower costs, higher quality and far fewer labour issues.

As an example of what I mean, several years ago I was working at a company that was trying to develop a SIRI like mobile app/directory assistance product with a large telecommunications company. Six months into the development of this product the union management decided that this violated their contract and that all DA services had to be handled by union operators and the project was "delayed"; the project still hasn't been restarted. Millions of dollars of revenue lost to prevent the union from losing 0 jobs.

I am sure Spaceguy would have been happier in Communist Russia where everyone was poor. Oh, but wait, the Russians couldn't stand it so they through it out. Maybe Communist China then, but communism did the same thing to their economy and they through it out too. Seems you have no better possibility, and that's the difference between Democrats and Republicans. Republicans have enough machismo to take care of themselves, regardless of the income level. Democrats on the other hand are a bunch of snivelling, whining losers who can only survive on handouts from someone else.

Actually calling names like that lets me know you work of hate and not facts. Canada is a great place and is way more social then us. Also polls show that educated white men vote overwhelmingly Democratic. While uneducated white males vote republican. You whole response is completely uneducated and stinks of racism and talking points that mean nothing. No one ever said we want communism. God what a big jump from a president like obama who is actually a Moderate republican. I actual would vote Jill stein but I hate Romney and ryan so much I'm voting obama just in spite of them. SO get you facts straight. Oh yea you don't have any. You bettet watch some more fox news, for your slogans and one liners then.

If the shoe fits then wear it. I wasn't calling names, I was accurately describing the facts. Your comments are funny since I am a Canadian. Greece is a much more democratic country and it is an economic basket case because it, like you rely on others to earn their income. They don't have the dignity to work hard to make a living. So you are playing the race card. I noticed that White people are the only ones that are ever accused of racism. The accusation itself is racist.  I doubt you could understand that comment though. One thing you do recognize is that your views are based on hate. That we both agree on. Also, your views are based on covetessness. Have you noticed that rich people are rich because the benefit others? Should Steve Jobs, who made millions of peoples lives better with his inventions have made more money than a janitor. He is a 1 percenter, but he deserves his money, just like the other 1 percenters. They made the world, all of us better off. But you  are too full of hate and covetessness to understand that. I read more balanced news than anyone I know. I like to read liberal newspapers because the idiot reporters are so funny to read. I too  am concerned about the uneven distribution of income and the loss of manufacturing jobs affecting young people these days. However, spewing useless, and hatefull rhetoric is not the solution.

Well it's all about short term profit to most sadly.

The top 1% Libertarian super rich Republicans have the wealth and power to influence 50% of the population into voting for policies that ensure the top 1% get richer at the expense of everyone else..

then why was Obama the biggest recipient of wall street donations in history during the 2008 election?

If the top 1% always votes Republican, then why did more of them donate to Obama / Democrat candidates than McCain / Republican candidates in the last presidential election?

Also Dems/libs love to point out the sharp rise in income among the top 1% over the past 30 years or so, but did it ever occur to them that the sharpest increase occurred after the explosion of the internet and tech industry during the 90s-early 00s?

Gee, I wonder why folks who were already millionaires and billionaires were able to make even more money with the advent of the internet going mainstream, the globalization of world markets, and all the innovations the rapidly growing tech industry brought to the table?

Less we forget... a kid who developed a program originally meant to rate the hotness level of girls at his university is now one of the richest of the 1%ers in the world... all thanks to the internet. Meanwhile, the blue collar jobs of yesteryear are basically the same blue collar jobs of today... just with way more competition thanks to cheap labor from rapidly growing economies overseas.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

I've read through everyone's comments, and the bottom line is this. No matter what the reason is that made the rich as rich as they are, there is no reason for 1% of a nation to have that much wealth while everyone else struggles. I don't care how great your invention or innovation is. Generally speaking, the rich stay rich, because they continue to take advantage, in one way or another, in order to stay rich. Whether it be over charging for their product, under paying for their workers, loop holes in the law to avoid taxes/getting tax breaks for reasons that shouldn't even be legal (though they are)....the list goes on.

Most of the topics in hear that people are spouting off are only one side of the lie. If you're not in the inner circle that is the top 1%, you most likely don't have all the facts as to how they got there, what shady on-goings took place to land them there, and what they have done/still do to stay there. All I know is that hard working men and women should be able to earn a steady RESPECTABLE living wage for whatever it is they do. Sure there needs to be variations in the amount, but it shouldn't be so high or so low that it's unjust. I don't pretend to propose to have all the answers, but THIS is the philosophy that our country needs to adopt and see through. Not just sit back and say it can't be done. Or "we're so greedy that we won't let it be done" (as it adversely affects our pockets).
