I've seen ads for those before, they look insane and I've always wanted to try one. Sadly I've never known anyone that has had one and I'm not going to spend the money just to try one of those.

I worked with a professional gamer for a while (she was actually a frag doll) and instead of using those things, they did something called the crab grip when playing Halo. I saw her playing like that one day and it's pretty crazy but it makes sense and that's apparently how they all play. It's the same concept as that crazy contraption in that it allows you to use the right analog stick and face buttons at the same time.

You do it by holding the controller with your left hand as normal, but with your right hand, you but your pointer finger on the face buttons and then use your middle finger and ring finger for triggers. It feels really awkward but I guess if you're use to it, it makes you that much better since you can turn and press buttons.

I remember using the "claw" to play halo (we called it the claw instead of crab but same concept) and it does work well once your used to it. This looks like it could work well aloso, but kind of hard to get used too. Maybe i'll gewt on for next gen. I hate buying add ons at the end of a gen.

I was going to suggest that doing this would make more sense than that odd contraption,  but using a different grip on your controller won't cost you money.

i feel like this could help out in shooters but can you imagine playing a fighter or any game that makes frequent use of the face button. i can't..

Umm , no. Doubt I will ever want one of these.

Edit

read what twesterm wrote, it really works. i tried to play like that (if i understood correct what he means) and it worked. i wasn't as good with it because i wasn't used to it and too lazy to train but that would be a great possibility with some hours training.

what i also don't understand, why should i even want to have a huge advantage? i could use a keyboard and controller for console but isn't that why i play multiplayer, to have a fair fight between me and others? people complain about overpowered weapons and then the same people play with different controls which give them a huge advantage.

i mean, how can i be happy about my game knowing most of my competitiors had a technical disadvantage against me? ping and such things are worse enough to change the advantage in one our another direction.

You know in alternate universe somewhere back in 1986 the control for the nes to play supermario bros with was the powerglove and not the d-pad, and currently in that same universe I would be taking part in the olympics and not typing this on a game site.
