I understand I may be really late with this but did sony stop making the psp? I went to two walmarts and three game stops to find one as a gift but I was unable to locate one. I was told that sony stopped production but the only story I find on the web is about sony stopping prodcution on the pspgo. Little help please?

I seriously doubt they did. After all, that's how they make some of their money. (Pretty sure the Go is dead, though.)

Why didn't u just buy a vita u could play all the psp games on that.. well digitally, and the majority not all of them

Maybe he didn't want to spend twice as much money as he orginally would/ he doesn't have enough money/ the person who is receiving the gift specifically asked for it.

When I've asked around my local shops (UK), the only PSP they sell new is the E-1000, which is the budget price model without wi-fi. Nowhere seemed to have any 3000 models in stock at all, so idk if they just stopped buying them or Sony have stopped producing them.

I did but only one store answered the phone. I ordered a go on amazon, could sony be doing this in secret? Kinda odd for son many stores to out of psp units.

The PSP Go is dead. The PSP 3000 should still be sold though...

PSP/GO/Wii/DS are all going out, no reason to waste money on any of those.

VITA/Android/iOS are in style.
